Good point. You'd think they would've inlcuded it in AT2, like GR2.Funkybot wrote:Let's face it, this thread will be lucky to see 10 pages. First off it'll probably actually be released in the next month or two now that AT2 is shipping, and very few people want to spend $400 on a bass amp plug-in. I mean AT2 has mass appeal in that everyone wants to distort things, and guitar amps/pedals are the way to go for that, plus there are a billion guitar players in the world (perhaps that's exagerated). Bass though is a different beast. I really want SVX, but couldn't justify the price and I play and record bass enough, so it's not like it wouldn't be handy.
Ampeg SVX supposed to be released this month!!!

And that was exactly what I was getting at, but I hardly doubt the people at Ampeg would've gone for that the placement would be nowhere near as good.bduffy wrote:Good point. Yeah, no doubt: this is the amp they worked out the name brand deal with; no way they're going to have it just thrown in as a nice little afterthought, for the guiyar player who wants to take a break and track some bass! I guess we'll see how valuable the bass player/multi-instrumentalist market really is soon...Funkybot wrote:And that was exactly what I was getting at, but I hardly doubt the people at Ampeg would've gone for that the placement would be nowhere near as good.bduffy wrote:Good point. .. yes, its very expensive indeed. though, it feels like a must-buy to me, out of several reasons.
reason 1 is that i'm so in love with one of the bass-presets of AT1, so that makes me a fan already.
reason 2 is that i'll receive my rickenbacker 4001 bass next week, and reason 3 is that i dont plan to buy a real bass-amp in the forseeable future. (so with Ampeg SVX being the first of its kind it feels like a .. yes .. *must buy* to me).

Nice! I've gotten some good sounds with a Rickenbacker 4001v63 and Guitar Rig, but I agree Ampeg SVX seems like it will be perfect for it.putte wrote:.. yes, its very expensive indeed. though, it feels like a must-buy to me, out of several reasons.
