I think a lot of people don't care for it because it's got a somewhat thin sound. But when a thinner sound is needed (i.e. something that fits in a mix) this one's a winner!

I dig it too. It's got a pretty unique sound for such a relatively simple synth. Little features like repeating envelopes and filter envelope delay really help its flexibility.

i couldn't make any use of it, yet..
except playing around with it..
but i like the sounds ...
plus i like the fact that it has only 25-keys,
fits perfect to any portable midi-keyboard setup,
and it's the only instrument with yellow-keys

I wouldn't call it thin.wilsontherocker wrote:I dig it too. It's got a pretty unique sound for such a relatively simple synth. Little features like repeating envelopes and filter envelope delay really help its flexibility.

Chuck a saturator on a bass patch on it and there's plenty of ooomph when needed.
Does have a very mix slicing HP filter and BP mode is superb on mono leads with lots of portamento.
Capable of some very nice effects also and far more flexible than the interface would lead on to believe IMHO.

I wouldnt call it thin either. At all.
But this just in I JUST found out (by complete coincidence) that it's apparently an emulation? Now I want the real thing:

I was fully aware it was a simulation myself
Still I do agree with you it can sound "thin" if you want it to but has more than enough bottom end when needed.
It can definately slice through a mix like a Mo'fo also.
It's also very good at those early WARP release style (think early Aphex Twin / Autechre etc) style pads and drones that sit well in a mix and have a certain 'character' to them.
Great little VSTi none the less.
Can sound dirty as all hell also.
Not to shabby at oddball analog FX weirdness either

many thanks everyone for the appreciation on daHornet,
that was a synth I designed with much love, a few tricks
was used in the filter to get the "dirtiness",
BTW totally agree with "far more flexible than the interface would lead on to believe"
thanks so much
