Warning Digression Ahead:
I'm firmly believing that just how the iPod revolutionized how we listen to music (in the sense that smart playlists and hundreds of albums at the touch of my finger - I know I listen to albums I never would have bothered getting out the CD for these days), a smart "Patch-Agent" would be the holy grail for music making in that I know if I had some thing that could go through all my soft(or few hard synths) and find the right sound I am after in one simple search, life would be alot easier. But that kind of transition always comes with pain - It took a solid 2 weekends of tedium for me to make sure all my ID3 tags were right and full of data to make the smart playlists work great - I think it will be the same for a patch-agent should one appear. It would be great if it could automatically analyze music and add meta tags like 'dreamy", "ethereal", or "punchy" etc to all my samples and sounds - but I daydream and digress now... :p
As my main music pc is a laptop (albeit a grunty one) and I already have an edirol fa-101 external audio interface, another card is not really possible or worth the effort (tho the price$ is right thanks for that ebay link) it to me to stick in an old pc just to get them. (Maybe I should just figure out how to wire up the qy-70 to Sonar so I don't get the midi latency feedback thing?)
Thanks Artivera, but yes I'm also hesitant as you say to screw up my main [read: moneymaking] PC with drivers emulating old cards, though I think it'd be safe to try the VST dll itself if anyone has it unpacked (and assuming it's freely distributable).

I will go grab that XG soundfont and try it with Sonar's sfz plugin (it'll be the first time I use it)...Yagushi - haha@ the slap bass - Santa's Beard is my fav X-mas song!
and thanks aMUSEd I'll check out those - I'm always on the lookout for great VSTis to add to the mix (especially ones with tons of presets - I prefer to write music rather than spend time tweaking a sound patch - unless I know exactly what I'm after). Btw is your name after the band MUSE? I was blown away by them in concert last year. I never thought 3 ppl could rock so freakin hard! They're great live!
