Yep. Problem with FL is that if you run into issues with the tempo if you do anything other than x/4. That's why I said, keep it 4/4 and edit what's there. 17/8 is ah... hehehe...

correct, sir. :-)

(2 bars of 8/8 = 16/8 + 1/8 = 17/8 )

Indeed. My bad :)

Wow, well I really appreciate all the help!

I set 17/8 in FL, which i havent tried yet... but i dunno, it just doesnt seem right.

It just seems FL isnt right for multiple time sigs :(

Like I said, anything other than x/4 is going to be weird in FL. Just edit what's there and you'll be fine.

Fruity should be updated to do this just as most of the other major host do. Time sig changes are really easy in Sonar and I understand in Cubase. eXt and Live are able. My favorite for time and key changes is a proper scoring program like Overture. No guesswork there.

:hihi:

Yeah, I agree. It's a big drawback to FL.

hmm. i never had any problems with time sigs in fl since i learned a bit about them.

of course, i've only tried a few different time sigs other than 4/4, mainly 9/8.

eg. for 9/8: set fl to 9/8 and make the kick pattern according to the thingy below. of course, there are different ways of doing 9/8 but just as an example to make it loop perfectly.

x...x...x...x.x.x.x...x...x...x.x.x.

grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr dang you SONAR!! why must you rock so much :P

guess i cant stand Sonar still --

but man... this really irks me about FLstudio.

Am I the only one who doesnt use FLstudio for 4/4 techno?

I mean, call me a dork, but i love crazy time sigs --- and seriously, FL doesnt do it for me in that regard.

can you try a quick 9/8 pattern? the one i posted above with the dots and the x's. that one works perfectly for me. playlist fits perfect. patterns fit and loop perfect.

someone at the fl forum made me an FLP and the project signature is 17/2 -- it works this way...

http://premium1.uploadit.org/3feetabsent//oddmeter.flp

and tuz, I dont think my beat was in 9/8

and of course, my next problem is going to be :

incorporating other time signatures into the project.. without the playlist getting sccrewed up...

yeah didn't look at your beat in depth, just giving example with 9/8 cause that's what i know best. but yes, the playlist will get screwed up if you try to use multiple time sigs. for that i'd just adjust time sig to the most used and then manually adjust the placement of other time sig patterns. :)
