Even in it's current pre-beta version it's sounding amazing.

GR2 is absolutely great. Right now I'm playing with a Marty Friedmann solo sound...and I can't tell the sound from GR2 from the Marty's sound (Symphony of destruction solo). And so with many many others tones. You have to make your own presets , and like we all know, the guitar player technique is a big factor.

Sorry to hack this thread but as much as i like NI stuff, i just ordered Amplitube2.
With Amplitube 2 demo i didn't manage to get a sound made by myself that i could say i liked, but the presets are outstanding
so they made me decide to choose it.
However, i payed Amplitube but i don't have it yet, so i would like to know how good it is the Stomp I/0 regarding constrution, latencies and audio quality... are it's drivers USB 2 or 1???
Thank you
PS: GR2 is indeed great too but the Santana presets (EG) on Amplitube 2 are unbelivable.

I had the very same concerns, but R2 is MILES ahead of R1 and IMHO already better than AT2.... Plus I bet it will be cheaper and I know it definitely has no dongle.... hahabduffy wrote:Yeah, that's what I thought...championrabbit wrote:ReValver II.Sorry, I can't see any comparison between ReValver and GR2/Amplitube; not even close.

It's better than R1, for sure. But such a PITA adding modules! And everything just has that metallic, grinding sound. I've been trying out the Amplitube 2 demo, and I think it's just amazing. Actually, you know what I like better than R2 and I think is approaching the same league as the big boys?DaveSmom wrote:I had the very same concerns, but R2 is MILES ahead of R1 and IMHO already better than AT2.... careful, testers of unreleased products. I think your license agreements say something about acknowledging the existance of such products. :)

If you happen to have some random clips of what that combo sounds like I'd really enjoy hearing some, seems like the perfect solutionsafeaim wrote:I use Prominy LPC Guitar in combo with Guitar Rig and I love it

You can also check out the demos at Prominy. I think most of the demos were done using LPC clean and Guitar Rig. There was also a post at Northern Sounds where Akihito referenced the preset he tweaked to get that sound.

It's only an example of a good tone. A tone that costs thousands in guitar gear and studio hours. I have this sound with GR2. Not bad at all, isn't?

Not bashing GR2, if it works for you, great, but: Man, if you think that any GR2 preset sounds just like Marty Friedman, that doesn't mean that gr2 is great, but that you are not able to distinguish between GR2 and miced amp, at least at your current level of knowledge about guitar sound, no offense. Train your ears.VaiHalen wrote:seamoss wrote:VaiHalen wrote: Right now I'm playing with a Marty Friedmann solo sound...and I can't tell the sound from GR2 from the sound of the Marty's sound

Also, you have VaiHalen nick, and your ambition is to play with tone exact as M. Friedman tone. Kind of funny, do you have sole ambition to become next VaiVanFridmen Guitarkenstein monster? I think that is what seamoss was pointing at. Think about it.
Cheers!
