Though I love my UAD-1's (I'm even an administrator in the UAD forums...), there's plenty of plugs out there that do some tasks either equally well or sometimes better, depending on my needs each time (TC, Voxengo, iZotope, URS etc.). However, I'm doing some mixing on an HD3 rig these days and using the Bomb Factory plugs and no, IMHO, they're not as good as the UAD-1's; actually, far from that.

I had problems installing the UAD software.
I get error "version mismatch" on the older plugs.
Anybody else?

I worked with BF for years, they arent even a shadow of the uad-1 plugins, as the blindfold tests in all the mags have shown.

The upsampling is interesting, BF of course doesnt upsample, nor does URS.

I can imagine if they did it would reduce their plugin counts significantly.

In any case this isnt just an "N" plugin this is Neve approved, it IS the Neve plugin.

.. and having Neve the name does not always mean Mr. Rupert Neve himself endorsing it. AFAIK only a company named Amek ever got the full deal with the man himself. He was even consulting them to get the deisgns good. Now it's only the Portico series and the extremely expensive Master Piece kit that have the famous signature.
