In due course...I'm sort of involved in a little project that may go that way soon...

Where do you live btw?
Hard to find in London!?!? :o :-o

I'm in mid-coast Maine, near enough to Portland where there is a lot of ethnic music (Afghani, Somalian, Sudanese, Celtic, African, Latin, you name it)

Ah.... perhaps not hard to find as such. But deep down I'm a electronica head so I don't know many world music performers, and finding people is not hard, but finding people who's willing to do it for the fun of it ie. don't want £100+ is another story. :( The music I do is world electronica so it's more like "techno with a banjo" :hihi: which is not that appealing to most world music performers.

Holymoly: don't worry about it, tomorrow (is it tomorrow?) when the group buy has ended your worries will be over :D

Thanks for the interest in our virtual ethnic instruments products. An Ethnotronics VST info will appear in an extra thread with all the concerned product details. In the meanwhile you can get an impression about our ethnic instruments related contributions by checking our other products and products we've did for other manufacturers incl. the mp3s:

hey thanks for replying, Julia. WOW! I did not know that - so you guys actually did those libraries then? For the most part the demos sound pretty good although the World Traveler demos aren't showing up on the Sonic Reality site, so I have no idea what that library sounds like. :(

QUESTION: Other than EMM Knaglis....are you guys going to include any Scottish/Irish bagpipes? I totally dig the bagpipes and hope you do! I wasn't very impressed with the Knaglis one as I felt it was not realistic at all; I'll give it the benefit of the doubt and say it was because of a lack of samples for the demo

Anyhow....I just want to say that I AM looking forward to what your Ethnotronics product will offer and as a (potential) customer...I am NOT going to purchase EastWest Quantum Leap RA in the hopes that your product will be just as comprehensive, sound as good (not really interested in all the different articulations, but a few is nice to have) and I assume it will be priced much better :)

Can I also recommend that you guys consider making an SFZ format of your library(ies) as well for Cakewalk Dimension Pro? As you know Dimension Pro is the "new kid on the block" and it's slowly gaining ground, very efficient and easy to use...on top of sounding great. I personally don't use or require Wusikstation or Halion, so if you guys can consider adding the SFZ format to your list....that'll be just dandy!

Cheers!

P.S.: by the way Armadillo/Funky - the Quantum Leap RA GroupBuy has been extended to July 3rd, but as I said above...I've pretty much decided to sit back and wait in the hopes of Ethnotronics will be a formidable competitor and whatever secret funky was eluding to. :o It's just like waiting for Garritan's GPOA for Dimension Pro. (sigh)...waiting really sucks...

I too am excited about Ethnotronics (as EVERYONE knows by now I'm sure. ;) ) I can say that Ethnosphere has some good bagpipes, quena's, and shanai's as well. But seeing how the loyal are still here, and though I hate to give away my secrets... But seeing how we will be moving to Ethnotronics at some point, I suppose I can 'declassify' this little morsel for those who just can't wait and/or need more than BITR and Quantum et al can offer... At still a reasonable price.

Stick this in your sampler and smoke it!... http://www.sumerauer.de/early_patches/d ... index2.htm

Very detailed and authentic samples and .SF2's, and Andreas is a real nice guy as well. THE BEST sampling CD I have gotten to date. Not only the samples, SF2's and nice booklet are worth it, but there's an extensive history to each instrument and variance of them as well. Well worth the small investment to go along with all these serious tools IMHO. ;)

Yes you're right Steven, but you should mention the new product as well.
http://www.banchetto-musicale.de/en/index2.htm

And there will be more.
At the moment there is a beta test for a VSTi from Andreas.

It is... :band:

a virtual Hurdy Gurdy :hail:
I love this one, it is amazing.

More things will be announced soon.

Good to know Phil! Must've overlooked that all this time (or how 'new' is it?) Wish it was in .SF2 format as opposed to .SFZ. That's like buying a SONY MP3 player off a street dealer in N.Y. and realising when you get home it says 'SUNY'. ;)

If I win the lottery, maybe? (I got a Hurdy Gurdy emulation somewhere around here already... I'll keep you posted. ;) )

Post

It is available for a few months now.
You should get Extreme Sample Converter (A must have)and convert what you need to SF2.
That's what I did.
I made my own soundsets for EMM Knagalis from Banchetto and Early Patches.

Post

I'm also keeping my eye on these guys...
http://www.store.precisionsound.net/

The freebies are interesting, and one of these days I may invest. The electric piano directs on where to get this free .SFZ player, and it works pretty good. Just a pain to load the player, then the .SFZ

I'll look more into this Extreme Sample Convertor as well. ;)

Just realising how much competition BITR is up against, and playing Miracle On 34th St. is all. ;) Alternatives/competition/comparisons - BITR better be on it to be in it is all I can say. ;)

SoundsOnline (EastWest) just came out with an "across the board" 50% discount on all their Quantum Leap products...include QuantumLeap RA, so.....if Ethnotronics is never coming out - I'll know what I need to do!

Ooh... :-o :hihi: I didn't know about the RA offer being reopened. :) I missed the group buy cuz I wuz broke!

Checking your link, I see this deal is on till Dec 31, too. Bags of time...I think I'll do RA and Stormdrum and just nix out anything else, other than the excellent Kong Audio family.

And if Julia accuses me of spamming or being bitchy... hey, this was an entire year of waiting.
