I've tested the installer here before release and I've just tested it again. It doesn't delete my VST plugin folder.

Can you tell me more about what you've done exactly? Did you change anything about the install path before installing?

Erm...try reading the thread. You'll find that a lot of people (myself included) don't install their vst's on the C: drive, so when you change that, the installer is obliged to (and many do this) add the \ToxicIII or whatever folder back to the path automatically...especially when this kind of thing can happen. Go on, test it by changing the install path to c:\vstplugins, not c:\vstplugins\ToxicIII, then uninstall it.

Post

Well, you're right.

There's now a new installer online that won't do this.

reflex - good to hear that the problem is fixed already

shame that you didn't see fit to apologise :?

It's now 10pm and instead of making music, I'm still trying out undelete utilities , so far unsuccessfully.

maybe it's not your error - if so , that's cool

Be quiet. They even put up a new installer because of the issue. The problem occured when you CHANGED the install path.

Hey scuzzphut,

Sorry to hear that ur entire folder had been deleted. A while ago my hard drive died, after that I made sure I backup everything to email, CD/DVD, usb & extenal hard-drive. Hopefully, you will recover the most important files, altho it will be frustrating & time-consuming..Personally, I think IL should apologize. Anyways, I hope u get things back to normal ASAP.

if you havent used the drive, theres no doubt youll get your stuff back. Otherwise, dont you keep backups of the stuff you use? nothing gets installed on my system without first putting it in backup.
