They are unique plug IMO, you won't find anything anywhere that does what those plugs do, or at least not the way they do it.
Roger Nichols bought the distributing rights to those plugs; he then rebranded them, changed their names (to something I find totally ridiculous, but that's my opinion...) and gui color, doubled the price and added a dongle copy protection system. Not anything to get him very popular around theses parts. The only technical thing that might be coming from him is maybe some presets for the plugs eventually.

If you want to buy them go ahead. It's just too bad you weren't here about 4 months(?) or so ago when they were much cheaper and under a different name. They were consistently some of the best favoured plugins at KVR. You've stirred up a hornet's nest a little bit... just a little bit.
Initially I was a little ticked because I was looking into getting InspectorXL. By now, I for one thoroughly congratulate the developers at Elemental Audio. They made such good software that a b-b-b-bona fide professional (like his work or not, 6 Grammys speak for themselves)like Nichols was happy enough to put his name on their products and take them under his wing. They now have great funding to make even better software. And because of their association they are more likely to get much better attention AND better paying customers within the HIGHEST orders of the industry. My hats off to them for that.

I like a good bargain as much as the next man, but give credit where it credit's due. The only people complaining are on forums like this; mainly hobbyists who sometimes barely have enough money to but their stuff anyway. If it's that good then it deseves the promotion and clout that they're going to get from Nichols. Face it, they've moved on. I'm sure they didn't want to dissapoint all their faithful users who got them going. They are undoubtedly wholly grateful for this, but apparently they've moved on to much much much bigger things than they could have hoped for here, and left us all behind.
ANY dev on this site would do exactly the same.
I truly wish guys like **Christian Budde** or The Buzzroom, some guys from Smart Electronix, and a few others get the same kind of recognition; _because that's what's good for them_. They fully deserve it. It's great that they offer us so much often for NOTHING in return, but if we're just stepping stones, then so be it. It shouldn't be expected that they will forever be giving us free or cheap shit just for a few kudos every now and then.

Words of wisdom, guy. I'm just sorry I had to wade through a ton of emotional bullshit to get to it and find that the plugs are really great. No offense to the other guys. Actually the Elemental plugs are good and effective at what they do, I got them, the EQ, Compressor and the analyst plugs are among those that I use the most - however (over priced, dongled and not as pretty to look at now, so I will use the originals until the windows or host eventually breaks them as I wont be updating to a dongled and altered gui version)

I bought IXL a couple of days before EAS went bust so I was kinda freaked out.. Other than that I own (and use religiously) firium, equium and neodynium.. I just didn't like the way that there was no warning that EAS was going to sell their product off like that. I love my original EAS plugs and have no plans to update them..

The Roger Nichols's plugins are great, but only because it's developed by Elemental Audio, not because they are now owned by this engineer.
On his website you can read that there will be new plugins announced at the AES in october, let's wait...

Having said that, though, I bought three Elemental Audio plugins a long time ago and they're uniquely excellent. Highly recommended. In their original form. I will no longer recommend them. Not because I'm pissed, but simply because their worth is now less than their price and bother. Hell, I used to think they were on the upper end of not-bad-price before... But the new price and the dongle means you would be wiser to look elsewhere for similar products. You might not get the exact same thing, but you also won't pay as much or have to deal with a fuckstick. I mean, dongle.
