Need Some Help: ArtsAcoustic vs. Roomverb M2

Hi everyone,

I have been reading about these two reverbs on this forum for days. I have also tried out the demos and I am having difficulty deciding which of these 2 to purchase.

Perhaps people who own both could point out some important advantages and disadvantages between them?

I would recommend taking the time to make this decision for your own experience as every one hears audio uniquely.

Make a few mixes of the same songs using the two different verbs and see how they sound completed.

I really appreciate all of the helpful commentary. In the end I decided to go with Arts Acoustic Reverb. It really is lush and beautiful: the intimate piano setting, the orchestral settings, and the long and deep synth settings really hooked me in.

I already have voxengo pristine space light so I didn't want to go with Wizoo W2 (plus W2 is a cpu hog). Roomverb M2 was tempting and sometimes it can sound close to AAR, but sometimes it sounds more synthethic to me (hard to explain) and since it is only $60 cheaper I decided to go with the one I liked the best: AAR. Hopefully, this is the last reverb I ever buy... I'm still in shock over the almost 200 bucks I laid down...

I also chose the AAR. One nice thing, they allow more than 1 computer install with their licensing agreement. Obviously if you have a studio with paid employees and multiple stations, you need multiple licenses, but if you have a couple computers that just you use, you can install the AAR on them. For example R66 reverb you can only put on one machine. I liked it but I have 2 computers so I would have needed 2 R66 licenses to have it installed on both.

This is an awesome policy indeed. Especially for people with one main computer and a laptop for "on the go" composing.

I also bought the AA reverb and can recommend it highly. The only negative thing for me is the rather simple modulation section (heh, 1 knob only!). I'd love to see much more custom control over the modulation (depth, rate, etc.).

I'd also like one more "band" in the damping section. It would make it infinitely more flexible!
