Mac os X, great! :D

Most of the stuff there is cross-platform, the app Granuluf is unfortunately OSX only.
The C64 emulation (above) is great fun :D

Downloaded that "Granularstuff", too because I love granularsynthesis... I really love it...! I will test today evening the stuff, have to go now! :(

Sampling a REAL C64 will probably be quite a PITA, because the C64 has a very bad SNR. The video signal bled into the sound.

It can be improved somewhat by blanking the screen (what most fastloaders did, too. I think it was in VIC Register $d011 ?).

Anyway, sampling from an emulator ( www.ccs64.com f.e.) should be more fun noisewise.

And metal: I was listening to your introtrack for "bonzieeed" for months back then. Loved it more than the demo itself ;)

I just sampled some percussion sounds from my Hardsid PCI Soundcard c64 (MOS6581) - 74 .wav samples -, all nice clean cut, normalised and stuff :)

$D011 - my God, yes. I remember changing that register to disable the screen before freezing with my Expert Cartridge. That way you didn't get all the garbled graphics is it decompressed.

Ah, the memories...

Analogue or digital – which is better? There's only one way to find out... FI-I-IGHT!!!

Hehe, yeah, I still can remember the code you'd need to set up a scanline-interrupt ;)

Very cool. Thanks for the share. :tu:

I've been considering a HardSID for a while now. How difficult is it to integrate into a standard VST sequencer/host? Do you have to do audio out from the HardSID and then audio in on your soundcard?

i already made some drums using a c64 emu and a tracker
hi Pantsdown666

It's very easy.
I own the HardSID Quattro PCI, it have 4 mono outputs (for each SID chip) - Yes, all routed to my inputs on the EMU 1820.

since i'm need of some good samples, i've slowly been organzing my huge list of sites in categories - free, requires mention, commercial, questioanle sources, etc. in doing so, i stumbled across this:

"C64 SID Drum Set: These are the sounds used in the ramake of Zak mc Kracken: all of them were produced by the Thorsten Klose's SID synth. The files are in WAV format, but there is also a patch for the Creamware STS sampler."
