They (Reason or something) change their skins because their skin is bad and not satisfy their customers, ImageLine keep their skin because its skin is pefect enough.
Obviously, FL Studio's Skin is really perfect, it has 3D-look, Glass Effect - and a professional color-scheme. It really look more professional that other hosts like Cubase or Sonar or Reason which are just use traditional skin.
Baniev [is not/will not/never be] a good designer i think.

lol.

no vst-dir. management for ages... all vst and vsti, named by their dll-name, in one big dir. (except this favorite stuff).
and most people argue/discuss about the skin.

Think about it, Baniev: FL7, COMPLETELY skinnable. I bet you're creaming your pants right now. :)

Now seriously, maybe gol could make FLS completely skinnable. He could start a skins contest on looptalk and here. Maybe he could also advertise on DeviantArt, there are some seriously awesome artists there. You know, maybe give an XXL license in return for three (great-looking) skins by someone from DA.

Reason's skin has been the same since version one. You can sorta put a jpg on a combinator, but that's it. Everything is the same.

FL's skin bugs me. It's dark and depressing looking. It is precisely because the unnecessary gimmicky 3d look, glass effect, etc that it looks a bit more like a toy. "Professional" interfaces don't use sparkle - they have functional, clean, easy on the eyes design. This is my professional web/multimedia designer opinion :D

btw, I'm not saying FL is bad, it just looks a bit goofy.

I never understood why IL is so opposed to creating maybe ONE other skin just to give users an option.

...then why aren't you cracking a different sequencer?

Try SAWStudio, which sells for up to $2500. At that price it's probably a most decent application, but it looks like Zelda's girlfriend made the graphics. What the hell is a "professional look", and how does it transfer into your ability to put out a decent track?

If your talking about completely overhauling the layout to change the way the program looks--->works, then you're talking about a different program altogether. But if you're talking about simply changing the colours?!?... changing the colours isn't going to help you. :)

Does a mechanic stop working on cars because they stopped making neon blue screwdrivers?
