Actually, with the new versions that are in beta, the engine has been improved. It is still recording mono to stereo, but the engine can actually read true mono tracks, so you can manually convert the mono recorded track that is made into stereo by FLS, back into a true mono track, and FLS will be able to read it.Reverse Engineer wrote:Yeah, that's all that's happening. Basically if you import a mono file into fls, it splits it into a 'stereo' track when you export it again. I don't see the point in that, cos all you end up with are files twice as big as they should be.aetmos wrote:Just taking a stereo file with identical L and R tracks, and making a mono file? It shouldn't.but if it doesn't harm it opening it in soundforge or whatever and re-merge the channels, then it's not such a problem, just silliness.
Btw, as simple as your plug is, it's a very handy thing to have around (i'm sure you already know that though.) It's a nice tool to give breathing space by turning it on and off on a stereo track when stereo isn't particularly needed at that point.
The main reason FLS is still using stereo, is that supposedly the mixer still uses stereo.
The sad part is that Gol doesn't have plans to change the mixer.
