There's also a movie about Moog-synths, dont know what its called, I saw some short clips of it and had Bernie Worrel talking about his moog

Here's an idea for the original poster. I can't help you with playing technique, and that's your biggest hurdle between yourself and Bernie Worrell... but what you can do is run Minimonsta through OtiumFX Sonitex STX-1260. http://www.kvraudio.com/get/2268.html It'll instantly give the sound a "dusty vinyl sample on an MPC60" quality. At least that way your digital Minimonsta will sound closer to their Analog Mini. i do it all the time.

That's funny, that's their worst album IMO. I like their earlier stuff: "Maggot Brain", and the self titled one "Funkadelic" being my favorites.

did I mention that Funkadelic is my favorite band of all time? Don't care too much for Parliament though (weird huh?) because they were more mainstream when compared to Funkadelic's experimental funk/rock.

And Eddie Hazel's solo on the Maggot Brain intro is probably the best solo I've every had the chance to hear besides Jimi. Its damn sure the longest!

there's so many great stuff in funk from the beginning to 2006 ...
i luv all the earlie period, but right now i'm in a big moog for more futurist and technologic funk (kindof...)

"atomic dog" (extended version) from clinton is such a great song :D anyway...

barf and francesco : wicked tip thx a lot mates havent even noticed the existence of this documentary...featuring luke vibert and JJ Perry 2 of my top fav artists, nice one

Jones : i'll try this and c if it's not redundant with my voxengo warming gear :) looks like a cool plug anyway..btw i'm sure something like GuitarRig could be awesome on synths..guitar fx on synths is a known trick

and a bit feeling the same than u man about prefering less mainstream and more dirty sound, but this remain pretty wicked mainstream music ;)

in fact besides funk i'm more into experimental electro, anyone put an ear on "Super Collider" (the band, not the software) :that's jamie lidell and cristian vogel, totally supremely awesome funk, especialy the first LP...imagine your funk heros playing with the weirdest softwares !!!

I used to have this other Clinton sample CD :

Don't know where it went ?!?!
Anyway, it was better for guitar, bass and drum samples, rather than keyboard ones
...we need a Bernie Worrall sample CD ..
or just Bernie himself!

just a simple synth patch, but it has exactly the perfect feeling : filter and osc are perfectly tweaked

sorry just sharing some love and enthusiasm :D
That's interesting - I always compared that tune to more of the Prince and Michael Jackson sound. Never really thought of it as P-Funk-esque until now which is cool. I saw him live two times this summer btw. :)
