How comprehensive is Samplitude 9 notation mate ? Can you do things like dynamic marks / accents / key changes / layout .etc ?
If we are talking about the most basic scoring, you may want to check out Finale Notepad which is free and very good, but limited and you can't use MIDI as input to enter your score.

That's true, and handy. Just take time to make similar templates in your notation proggie and your host... and you are done. Only disadvantages is that you dont have freezing... but after you are done, you can import the midi file in your host and give it the final touch.Sascha Franck wrote:I think VST support can be added more or less easily to any scoring program as long as they're throwing out MIDI data in realtime (which most of them should). I have Overture 4SE, nice, you can work directly with the vSTi, but... i can only add a FX in the master chanel for all the tracks... no way. I prefer to connect it trough midi to Tracktion, and score with audio/fx at same time. Very Handy. The bad thing, is that "giving the final touch" i would like to have basic score edition in Tracktion... that's only a dream.
