fair comment - I can see where you're coming from - unfortunately, I can't think of any plugins that will help :-(

wouldn't it be great if it had continuous tracking of the song position? :D

...

HM!

or then you could just use the plugin to write the automation data to your host. that way you could edit it manually also, if you like.

nice
can't wait to try THAT out =)
The nicfit one actually does this. It is by far the best MIDI LFO available, no idea why it's crashing for you though :(

just a quick note, though it will be $49 when released - vMinion will have 12 BPM-syned LFO's (absolute to song position!) that can optionally output any MIDI CC (or note).

Its not the primary purpose of vMinion but it's a fun "bonus ability"

gdamn .. i can't seem to get nF_CC_MOD_Ldev.dll to work in sonar, either :P

Post

have you tried subhosting it in eXT? it should work fine there...

Post

yeah, seems to work in xt. .. weird, doesn't it work in any other host?

Have you tried using EnergyXT within Cubase SX? Sounds like it might be something you will find very useful. I was, up until a couple of days ago, running EnergyXT as a VSTi within Cubase VST5 (now decided to ditch Cubase VST5 completely and just use EnergyXT as a host). You can then assign pretty much any plugins' parameters to any midi controller/s over any range quickly and easily. You can think link up various midi plugins/fx/VSTis and do pretty much anything you want on one screen with simple midi/audio on screen cable connections.

Just tried Note2CCv2 and CCLFOv2 in EnergyXT and seems to work quite well. Note2CCv2 is set to convert all note ons to cc123 val 127 and convert all notes off to cc123 val 000. Note2CCv2 is connected to CCLFOv2. CCLFOv2 is set to restart it's lfo by assigning cc123 to the restart parameter in CCLFOv2. CCLFOv2 is set to output cc0 into ASynth (simple but nice monosynth VSTi). I set ASynth to receive cc0 to control it's Cutoff parameter. ASynth's cutoff is now modulated by the lfo of CCLFOv2 which has it's lfo reset on every key press but does not stop when a note off is received. I still can't quite get the cutoff to retrigger from exactly the same frequency point on each note on though because of the inevitable delay between the sound of the plugin and the actual CCLFOv2's lfo restarting and the point from where the ASynths cutoff point has to be returned from when the note restarts. Much easier to explain with the display in front of you - I doubt if any of that makes much sense but I had fun trying. My head hurts. I need my bed........
Windows 10. Asus X99-Pro i7 6950X 10 Core 3GHz (Overclocked to 3.5GHz). Corsair DDR4 64GB Vengeance LPX 2400MHz. RME RayDAT. NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970. UAD2 Quad+Octo. Reaper. A couple of plugins.

yeah, i know you can use ext as vst, too. just trying to optimize ..

... and genuinely wondering how come that plug doesn't seem to work in other hosts

Post

nF_CC_MOD_Ldev works brilliantly in FL

Post

.. it is a normal VST plugin, though, isn't it?

.. i mean .. that it /should/ work in any host, right? or? ..

Post

sorry, what do you mean you cant "play that" ?

yeah but you can't play that.

i guess maybe the creater of nF_CC_mod only tested in energyxt and assumed it would work with other hosts. have any cubasesx users got it to work?

i did suppose that if i used it in energyxt it would work but it seems crazy to have to subhost another sequencer just for an lfo!

hopefully some charitable developer will see our thread and code a plug :) or perhaps once of the programmers for the existing solutions will improve one of their lfo tools

i got my fingers crossed

yeah, sorry, i mean .. um .. like, for instance mapping the speed (actually sync ratio, but let's say speed for clarity) of the lfo to one knob on my midi controller and the "depth" of the lfo to an other, and altering, "playing", recording them in real-time during the song..

as i mentioned earlier: " ...i'd want to do some mr oizo-style synced-lfo-playing.

i'd do it in my hosts automation if i'd just want synced sweeps or pretty simple low frequency oscillation, but i want to play and record realtime the playing of the sync ratio like something like in mr oizo - analog worms attack etc .."

Post

@meatwalker: me too =)

Post

sorry but I have no idea what you want to do :hihi:

sounds like you need to

a:make something in synthedit

b:use what ever method mr ozo or such use, probably manually programming such things live.
