Love the sounds, by the way! Much more musical to my ears than Native Instruments Limelite or Krypt.
I dont know much about Cubase, but the drum sounds arent associated with any particular midi notes. Each midi note will trigger the sequencer when 'midi' is enabled, and each note will track the pitch when 'track' is enabled.

just tried out cubix.
absolutely loverly.:)quality as always, sir.like an improved minimal.
..but,no shuffle?:( can't get it to fit in with my song, now,oh well, next song.
one small thing, the label for probability looks a bit like it might be 'predelay',to my bad eyes.:) maybe just 'prob' would have done.not important, but i actually managed to figure everything out (except that)without reading the manual.which says good things about your design + layout.nice work. :tu:

Thank you for this lovely VSTi.
I love Cubix, but it seems there is a problem with the song synchronization in Cubase (SL 3).
Especially in the first bar it is completely out of sync, when I start the playback. After 4 bars it is running perfect.
Hope you can fix this some day.

:hihi: well I do use the smallest possible fonts, hope its not too much of a strain on your eyes, I just hate big guis. I plan to start having readouts for each control(ie-full name, numerical value, MIDIcc, etc) might make things a bit clearer.

Yes, there is a small timing issue on startup in all sequencers, it jumps into position after about 2 seconds upon first run, but after that it should stay right on beat. I've always had this problem with every sequencer I've built in SE, not sure why this is, but it's definatly something I will keep trying to improve if possible. Thanks for your feedback!

It sounds excellent, and it's fun to play with.

Hi - this is my first post to the KVR forums. I just wanted to complement the devleoper on the fine work that was done on Cubix - what a cool addition to my sonic arsenal. And free, too!

Kudos!

Can we disable the step sequencer, and use Cubix as a drumsampler, with each sample triggered by a midi note ?
I must be dumb, as i tried to play with it many times while it was the DC, ,but never found a way to use it without the step seq...

Congratulations, btw, the GUi is really fine, and the features for soud tweaking are great !

Not at the moment, but I could implement this in the next update.

I've got quite an update planned for Cubix, but this will have to come after Cerebrum 3.

I am new to digital music creation. I do like Cubix also. I would like to use it in Cubase LE. However, being new to both programs, I do not know how to get Cubix to record in Cubase. I have had success with BFD. Does Cubix work with Cubase? If so, I must need to keep noodling.

Thank you for publishing this program free sir.

I got a similar question about Cerebrum awhile back, so I installed an old demo version of Cubase from a Computer Music CD and gave it a go, here's what I figured out:
(Note this should work for Cubix as well, since they are very similar in the way they operate)

1- I loaded Cerebrum into the VST rack and assigned it to MIDI track 1.

2- I got a beat going in Cerebrum and set the 'host' and play buttons to on.

3- I pressed play in Cubase, and Cerebrum played in sync with it.

4- I then selected Audio track 1 and hit record, and it recorded the audio
just fine.

This is a much older version of Cubase, so I hope it works about the same in the version you are using. Hope this helps.

Jack,

Thank you for your prompt reply and Cubase help. I am now able to play Cubix through Cubase. However, I am not able to record Cubix in Cubase LE. Cubix plays, but does not light up the green monitor lights. I loaded up a different drum machine (BFD) and the monitor lights are working. Also, BFD is recording properly.

Does anyone out here know how to record Cubix using Cubase? I am interested also in other psychic modulation products. I do want to know if they are compatable with Cubase, which is the recording program I intend to use.

Thanks again Jack.
