is this the VSL set that comes with giga orchestra? If so, no worries, the Kontakt 2 library has this, while im not sure if its exactly the same, its 7.5gb's, I believe its the same one your talking about?
I own both samplers too, and never of my life i will by a Tascam product again. Really Gigastudio sucks, it is the most demanding and unstable program on the market. Kontakt is in all respects far better! Never had a crash with Kontakt. Gigastudio never ran stable. Also making instruments is a pain in the ass with GS you need to do that with a external editor which is also not stable.

Sorry to tell you all this, but i have never ever had such a bad software expereince.

They say Kontakt 2 has much better interpolation than Kontakt. I guess they got slammed a lot for it, so they fixed it. One less reason to go for Emulator X...

OK, guys, this doesn't much have to with the topic, however it may serve it some.

Here's the lowdown. I am looking into Finale and Sibelius. Tomorrow I'll download their demos. However, I came across E-MU's Proteus X2. Its ModernSymph samples library comes with a light edition of Notion 4.

Have anyone used this software? Problem is that Finale and Sibelius are kinda short in samples, though people say they have fairly realistic rendition of whatever is written into them. They don't seem to have vocal sampling and samples though and I really don't quite know what to do. They have sequencers but again, don't know how good. But to have good realistic rendition I surmise a sampler has to be there with a library. Both come with Kontact Player.

Any opinion?

Thanks, John.
