Dude,
why are you so upset? It's a for the fun of it compo. You should ask the contestans if they are sad. I think MDSP is quite happy. And I'm like, happy for all the ppl that found my little plug and have had fun with it. please dont ruin that for me.

It's not every day, heck - not even every year, that I feel compelled to quote and fully endorse an Arke post, but here it is- I can't think of much to add or subtract:

Agreed. *Fun* is the keyword for this competition.larsby wrote:Dude,

The results of the voting don't change anything about the fact that we all have 31 new toys. Some may appeal to you, others may appeal to me. Our tastes and needs all differ.
Let it go.
I know I had a lot of fun participating in this contest, and I feel proud to be a part of this "brotherhood of devs" that's getting amazing things done in this wired global community (with the great help of Tolga and Ben ofcourse).
I mean.. things like this DC were unimaginable 10 or so years ago...
It has been a marvellous experience and I'm looking forward to the next one.

So you disagree with a democratic vote - that's perfectly fine (I wanted LBB to win), but there's no need to be such a ranting fascist crybaby about it.Vonbrucken wrote:DC RESULTS=winner triple cheese , the new one ping only !!!
In the end how does it affect you anyway? Will you lose sleep over it? Has it caused you to grow a spontaneous tumour? Did your wife leave you? Are you hungry? I doubt it.
In reality, everybody won and we all got a fantastic batch of free (well, ok almost free) plugs from it!
Don't be a bollox and ruin the fun - and chances of there being another developer challenge in the future...
My love and respect to the developers involved - these are wonderful gifts - THANK YOU ALL!

Seconded! This entire thing has brought us developers closer to each other, or atleast that's what I felt during it's run, and it was so much fun to participate. I did _not_ expect to end up in second place, so that's gravy. Awesome gravy, but still gravy. I hope there'll be another competion next year. And the year after that. And so forth.brambos wrote:I know I had a lot of fun participating in this contest, and I feel proud to be a part of this "brotherhood of devs" that's getting amazing things done in this wired global community (with the great help of Tolga and Ben ofcourse).

And, oh, while you're here I might just as well ask you again, why did development of pump stop at beta4 ?

Heh.. funny you should mention that. I made PUMP as a graduation project to support my thesis for my Master course (MA Interactive Multimedia). I had a bunch of hypotheses on supporting and encouraging creative processes which I wanted to test in the real world. PUMP was created as a testbed for a number of those ideas. That's why I gave away serial numbers in exchange for feedback.stefancrs wrote:And, oh, while you're here I might just as well ask you again, why did development of pump stop at beta4 ?I really liked it back in the days, hehe. I guess part of it is living on in tunafish in a mentality kind of way though!
After I graduated (I owe a big thank you to all those who sent in their feedback and experiences!) I started a company and simply lacked the time to do anything music-related for well over a year. Hence PUMP's development stopped at that point..
Not that I'm any less busy these days, but I make time for music-projects because I notice they keep me sharp and creative - also in my daytime job.
