Great news...only when I'm way busy with other stuff to worry about the update comes. I'm not complaining...just that I have to wait till next week to install ST2.2.
Thanks Squids for your hard work...and not charging us for the UB update.

Sweet!! Thanks Squids. ST 2.2 loading Mirslov sounds is such good news, and the fact that it's going to shake the dongle, will surely make a lot of people happy. I was disappointed that Philharmonik's sounds could not be used as an additional sound library for ST. You do listen to your customers, and looks like IK is finally listening you you!

Oh just to be clear this is the work of IK development, not me! I don't want to take any credit for this update! I did VOTE for it not to be charged for and this of course was to make you guys happy, create good will all around etc. Whenever my ideas like that work it makes IK feel more like SR to you guys in terms of quality care feeling. For example, I have suggested there be an official IK forum on the IK sites and it looks like there will be (in fact I am looking for moderators if anyone is interested let me know.... Berfab and Kim have joined up so far but I need some more for either AmpliTube or SampleTank... you have to be knowledgeable about them though and a helpful person with a great attitude, helpful, friendly etc.).
There are some really good things about this update though. One of them I have found is the load time!!! It's faster. That's always nice!

I think anyone who has been helpful over the years in this forum is a good candidate so maybe Beergeek, Mr. Tunes if he is still around... but if you're up to the task and you think you know your stuff then let me know!

Yes, I have noticed that sounds load faster now and it's very nice ! Thank you !Squids wrote:There are some really good things about this update though. One of them I have found is the load time!!! It's faster. That's always nice!
But there are still some problems of compatibility with ST2.0 :
- I have some combis (with parts using the stretch engine) with the "pre-analysis" window that never shut down.
- ST2.2 don't load the muti-fxs made with ST2.0.
I was hoping a fix for this but if it's not in ST2.2 I suppose that it will never be adressed.

Also I cannot use the Philharmonik sounds with ST 2.2.
I got a message "XYZ.sti" is a Miroslav Philharmonik 1.0 sound. Upgrade your sound content to version 1.1"
So have I to wait for a Miroslav update?
BTW loading times are impressive
Best regards

Kudos to IK for updating to UB ahead of the schedule (wasn't it supposed to come out january 2007) and making it free
On my MacBook, the standalone version is working nice and loading patches is really fast. BUT I'm facing a serious problem with the VST version - it ends up blacklisted (e.g. it's not listed in VST instruments list) in Cubase Studio 4. I've tried to reinstall ST2 many times. I've also trashed the Cubase preferences files to make it scan the VSTs again but ST2.2 does not pass the examination... Is anyone else seeing this kind of behaviour?

Make sure you guys give this feedback on IK web support: www.ikmultimedia.com in the supoprt section. The developers will have a look.
Yes, you will need a Miroslav update before it can be read by ST2.2
