I don't own any guitar pedals for two reasons (and one semi-reason). 1) I'm poor. 2) I prefer to DIY, 2b)I'm lazy and never finish projects.
I do however have a nice lofi pedal sitting on perf-board that need some trouble shooting (I'm pretty sure I burned up a transistor). It's one of those sounds like a transistor radio pedal, but also does a nice fuzzy distortion when cranked, and during the breadboard process it did a fine impression of an actual transistor radio. Good for dubby guitar parts.
When I finally finish it the next project is a Hendrix-mod Fuzz Face with transatlantic switch.

Why does that get misunderstood all the time? I wrote something I wanted to delete. But you can't delete a whole post. So I edited it and since you can't put nothing in a post I put '...'. I thought this was normal for "I didn't mean that, please ignore". It was NOT a comment on your funny picture/caption.annode wrote:Remind me to never invite you to a party.Hovmod wrote:...

Ah....ok Hovmod. Happy to hear that.
I saw nothing in your reply but the same 3 dots and 4 dashes like I have in my reply before yours.
I thought that was a comment somehow.
Thanx for straightening this out for me.

Back on topic...
I started with a gig bag with kilos of pedals: EH Big Muff, EH small stone phaser, Pearl delay/chorus, Boss BF-2 flanger, Cry-Baby wahwah.
Then I traded all that for a Boss ME-5 multi-effects floorboard. Which after some years was traded for the ME-10. In retrospect it all sounded crap.
Now I'm back to this setup: Orange OD-120 amp with only a Boss BF-2 flanger (had to buy a new one, I'll never sell any pedal anymore for $10 !!!) and a Tech21 Tri-OD to make up for the fact the amp only has one channel. Oh, and there's also a volume pedal and a tuner pedal.
I still have the CryBaby and Pearl delay/chorus units, but both are defect. Have to sort out which electronic part has died... Should be easy on the CryBaby, but on the delay it's complicated. It only lets through sound when the clip indicator lights. A friend already replaced all the semiconductors, so that leaves the resistors / capacitators...

Never heard a phaser that sounded as smooth and thick as the maestro.

The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

I've just got into the DIY pedal thing. The only effect I bought is a zoom2020 that i got when I was about 16. The OD's are quite laughable.
So far, I have bought PCB's from General Guitar Gadgets for a tube screamer, blues breaker, big muff and orange squeezer. Built both the TS and BB - they are both really good! The BB is standard but the TS had a load of mods on it, the keeley mods and selectable diode configurations for clipping.
Also will be trying to build a booster on perfboard and another fuzz on perfboard.

Boss FZ-2 Hyperfuzz - unbelievable distortion tones. Simply outlandish.
ElectroHarmonix HOG Synthesizer - Dont need a $700 Roland setup.
MXR Blue Box - fuzzy distorting psuedo-whale tones...
DOD 250 Overdrive - from blues to shred, this thing adds total BITE.

not gonna list them all, but the standouts:
big muff pi - what can be said but fat arse. i use two. two fat arses.
akai headrush - because a space echo is too dear to leave on top of an amp
mxr blue box - get the f**k AWAY from me
boss oc3 octave - the sound shit makes when it breaks
frostwave blue ringer ringmod - very, very nasty, in the best possible way
boss ce-1 - way cooler looking & sounding than modern boss gear, does vibrato too.
.. all run thu a marshall jcm800 bass head w/ quad celestion box
