Thanks! I'll be checking it out alongside SPAN and Inspector Free. I'm finding that I really like having the ability to look at the spectrum when I'm trying to figure out what the hell to do next to make the track sound better.

Thanks for the free plugins, much appreciated

I own DPM Pro so I definitely had to check this out. Looks the goods 8)

Thanks for your messages. If you find the transparency feature useful we will probably extend it to other products.
Thanks you for this! I have a minor bug to report though: when I fade using the display\'s opacity thingee, my entire sequencer GUI fades along with it. It\'s actually pretty cool, but maybe if I could just fade the plugin?
You are suing FL, aren\'t you? ;)
It unfortunately depends on the host application. There could be a bypass though, but it would require to have an independant window for the plug-in (meaning two windows at a time for a single plugin... Not very nice!). The issue with FL is that there is no way to have the plugin in a \"always on top\" window.

Thanks Blue cat for your free analizer.
Is it possible to adjust it that a pink noise make straight line ?

Hmm. What do you mean? Doesn't it already show pink noise as a straight line?

Hallo Mister toast,
when you know this 31Band Hardwareanalizers. Pink noise on this analizer shows the same level on all bands.

In bluecats analizer there's a line falling from left to right. Try it for yourself.

In voxengos Span there's a parameter named "slope" where you can adjust this thing.

No worries in that case... Thanks again!

Oh. I always thought white should be horizontal and pink should descend in a straight line. So you're just looking for an adjustment to allow you to change the slope as you increase frequency.

Post

About the slope adjustment: no it's not been included in this free version.
I know it's available in some other products, but could you describe what you exactly use it for?

Post

Thank you.

I just burned it on a CDR and installed it on Wavelab. Works great :)

Hi Blue Cat - I use slope in SPAN to "hype" the overall contour of my final target EQ. In other words if I'm listening to a bluegrass reference it set SPAN to average very slow and set the slope according to a general flat (horizontal) contour in the mids, it may end up being 5db/oct for example. Then when listening to the piece I need to EQ I just bring up SPAN and set a 5db/oct slope and broadly set the contour so that the mids generally have the same horizontal slope. If I was to do hard rock I would probably end up with more of a 3db/oct contour. It's just easier to tweak a song with an EQ to a horizontal reference IMO. [Disclaimer - Note that visual metering is only a piece of the puzzle, it still has to sound good when the metering is turned off :D ].

From what I remember in white noise every frequency is the same db level, in pink noise every higher octave drops by 3db. Some RTAs have a built in 0db/oct slope others like Harbal (not an RTA really but...) have a built in 3db/oct slope.

Hope some of that helps! I like slope adjustments, in fact I wish EQs and other processors had them. Like a very broad slope contour for an EQ -10db/oct all the way to +10db/oct ought to do it! Pivitol center freq while we're at it! :tu:

Thank you Kyle for the explanation. I think I cannot refuse you the slope implementation for the pro version then... :)

Who cares about the sound here? Isn't music just a matter of looking at nice curves on a screen? Must have missed something...

Mmmh, yes, that's an idea...
