If 75% of the sound is the Octavas, then what is the other 25%? The reason I ask is because the toms seem quite loud. In other words, it sounds like I'm sitting on the stool rather than in front of the kit when I listen to the toms. I tried to eq the toms down a bit but they spread a pretty wide frequency band and it's just not possible with the harmonic content. That's my only complaint really. I love the playing and the loops are very easy to work with because they just sit into the mix almost seemlessly. I'll probably be picking up these goodies come payday.herodotus wrote: I am glad you like the way our drums fit in a mix. We really stress old school, raw and 'natural' recording techniques. 75% of the sound is from the natural stereo spread of two Octava MK-012s in a standard x/y configuration. Consequently, they just sound like, well, a drum set.

The other mikes were: two at-4033's, 2 sm57's, and a pro-25 (old Audio Technica bass drum mike)freeztar wrote:If 75% of the sound is the Octavas, then what is the other 25%? The loudness of the toms is actually probably the quietness of the cymbals. Those old cymbals are charming, but they don't really cut through the way more modern cymbals do.

Just added some free samples.
These freebies are in 16/44.1 rather than in 24/96, but otherwise they are the same.
Here they are.

I just bought more webspace (I was maxed out!), so I will be putting together a new downloads page with all kinds of freebies in the near future.
Stay tuned!
