I believe what that means is you can not use Automap Universal v1.0 with VST plug-ins on a Mac. As far as I can tell, it only works with VST on a PC and AU on a Mac. Great for me since all I use are VST on a PC.kotto wrote:Hello
What do you think about this?
'"VST support on PC only on version 1.0 release"' (from the novation website)
Did this mean that the ReMOTE SL V.2 Software dont have VST support when I use it with programms like SX on a PC?
Can I use Automap Universal with ReMOTE SL V.1 or only with 2.x?

audioflux man, i agree, the novation remote SL is lightyears beyond any other midi controllers, i have had mine for about a year, and i can't wait for the universal. I was anticipating it to come out today too...but am not surprised not to see it up...the have a link in the 'automap universal' section to download it, but it just takes you to the download page with with no universal there. Ah well, not to panic it should be here soon enough.
I'm also very happy that novation values their customers and is improving their product for us. Very nice to see! i hated not being able to use parts of the controller to their full potential (ie. buttons and X/Y pad) the only complaint on the controller is i find the touchpads kinda crappy, way to stiff, but whatever, to many awesome things about it to pay much concern to that. I feel confident i won't need a controller for a VERY long time owning this, the only thing that could make thing in the future i could see them doing to make this beyond anything else is making automatic faders and knobs so everything is always in position. that'd probably be a hefty penny though.

Very true, and the controller is already on the pricey side as it is, but well worth it. I agree with you on the touchpad though, are the ones they put in laptop computers so expensive they had to cheap out on that? Maybe they wanted it to be less sensative so people wouldn't trigger by accident?bruuen wrote:audioflux man, i agree, the novation remote SL is lightyears beyond any other midi controllers, i have had mine for about a year, and i can't wait for the universal. Oh well, at least there is a whole new section on the site that shows what a wrapped plugin looks like. I'm in the process of upgrading my Event TR8s and S250 to JBL LSR4328Ps and 4312SP anyway, and the sub won't be here until Friday. Hopefully they will have Automap Universal out by then so I can test out the sub in style.

^ yep, i'm actually composing music for a documentary right now, so the little extra bit of control will be very helpful, so hopefully it comes out soon!
btw. i actually use the Event TR-6 right now, why'd you see the urgency to upgrade the TR-8's? i'm actually fairly pleased with the sound from them (although with loads of money i'd probably look at dyn audio myself)
i'd love to see a pic of your home studio if you had one, sounds pretty slammin!

Take a look at the LSR4300 series at the JBL Pro site and I think you'll figure it out on your own...bruuen wrote:^ yep, i'm actually composing music for a documentary right now, so the little extra bit of control will be very helpful, so hopefully it comes out soon!

I wouldn't really say there was urgency, I have had my Event rig for over 2 years. It was just the next piece of my studio to upgrade. The number one feature that sold me was the Room Mode Correction with its little RTA microphone. It analyzes low frequency response and standing wave issues, phase alignment (in the stereo field and against the sub), and amplitude variations caused by uneven placement and adjusts everything automatically to compensate. Then there's the other luxuries like a remote control to adjust the volume (no more reaching for the knob on my 896HD), level meter LEDs right on each speaker, control over the entire system from your computer over USB, not to mention they perform like a $1400 pair of monitors should if not better. It was really a no-brainer, if you don't have an expertly treated room, this is the closest you can get to that level of accuracy. I can't wait to hear how they sound with their sub later this week. They already dropped my jaw just running them with the old Event S250.

I believe every thread should devolve into character attacks and witch-burning. It really helps the discussion.

Works for me. It basically makes a second copy of your VST that is wrapped in a Novation VST host. The host automatically maps the parameters to your knobs and such. You can easily re-map then with this "learn" option that appears at the bottom of the plugin and its super fast. Move a knob on the vst, move the novation, vst, novation, etc etc etc. You can save and make it a default. When I switch between active VST's it auto switches the map. But my lunch break is up so back to work T_T

I can tell you how it works with Cubase 4 plugs after work. I have just been reading the documentation on it and my mouth is watering...ericj23 wrote:so come on how good is it - it's been up for at least a few minutes so how well does it work ???

I loaded it up tonight on my Remote 61 SL and this I have to say is incredible !!!! I have been waiting for something like this since VSTi's were a concept. No more fumbling for mapping trhe correct CC's just load a VSTi and your ready to edit and tweak away. Of course I havent fully explored everything yet but my initial impressions are amazing
Confusion will be my epitaph

Okay, it seems the wrapper is not compatible with VST 3 plugins at the moment, but it does work with the bundled plugs that are still VST 2.4 and below. I have not had a chance yet to actually try them, but they do wrap and get scanned by Cubase.Audioflux1 wrote:I can tell you how it works with Cubase 4 plugs after work.
