Thanks Ambisphere, free samples are always welcome. You should add a
to your homepage so you don't see the background image repeating.
Code: Select all
function centerWin() {
if (window.screen) {
var aW = screen.availWidth;
var aH = screen.availHeight;
if (aW > 1024) {
aW = 1024;
}
if (aH > 768) {
aH = 768;
}
var mW = (screen.availWidth - aW)/2;
var mH = (screen.availHeight - aH)/2;
window.moveTo(mW,mH);
window.resizeTo(aW,aH);
}

Armoor, it's not a repeating background. That's how I want it to look. The original image is 128x128 pixels and the total background is 1024x768 pixels.

Vonbrucken, there's some good stuff there. Most of the samples are from Eibecken, a German sample disc company that disappeared for some unknown reason and others were created by yours truly.

Yes. I realize that. However, a person with a big monitor, like me, sees this.Ambisphere wrote:Armoor, it's not a repeating background. That's how I want it to look. The original image is 128x128 pixels and the total background is 1024x768 pixels.

Armoor, I believe that I fixed the problem...I needed to set the site background to 'no repeat' in Dreamweaver. Take a look now and let me know if it's fixed. Thanks for the heads up on that.

so is it permitted to redistribute those samples? I only ask because I'm very careful about only using legit samples in my workAmbisphere wrote:Vonbrucken, there's some good stuff there. Abravo, as far as I am aware, you don't have to pay for a sample disc in order to use the samples from it.

when you buy most sample discs you're actually paying for the license to use the samples on it - which is why they often cost a lot more than just a regular cd. AFAIK no commercial sample cd company allows the free distribution of their samples

Well, I have about 300 sample discs in my collection. A large precentage of them have no licence statements even mentioned on them. Some of the samples/loops I used for my website were produced by a German company called Eibecken. I scoured the web looking for them recently, but they were no where to be found. Anyway, they have no license statements mentioned on the discs.

well I still doubt it's legal and a lot of people wouldn't want to use those samples knowing they've been ripped from a commercial cd
