I've already said this at the IL forum but man, Daven, you are a GOD when it comes to sytrus programming. I really hope IL buys you into the company as a preset slave. :P

Cheers!

Do you sell your sounds?
I would buy your Sytrus bank.

Thanks for the praise, I appreciate it :D

I'm on the FL beta team so some of those are included in FL7 already, and the ones that aren't likely will be in the future. In any event you'll be getting them all for free :)

@pekadan - thanks, glad you like the website. I have a whole bunch of stuff to update when I get around to it.

@dsp music - the sound I was aiming for was an eagle screech, and yes it seems to be well used in movies. I used edison's spectral view to identify the components of the sound, then used different combinations of oscillators and filters to create each one. It's best shown visually; I'll post a few screenshots when I'm home.

Daven, seriously, you should consider writing a book on the subject of synth programming. Some of your explanatory posts on the IL forum are very well written and you obviously know what to do to achieve a certain sound.

Cheers!

Remember to share them with us non-FLS folks too!

I really like the sort of "synth flute" sound early on, not the actual flute emulation, although that sounds nice too. Oh wow, and yes, the sitar too. Some nice pads too.

The nature sounds reproduction demonstrates some real talent, I think.

That's some serious sculpting. I wish I was as fluent in FMspeak

DavenH -- Excellent! Do you plan to make these presets available?

Indeed. I just need to have enough (some significant power of 2) to provide for Imageline who will include them in the FL and VSTi versions of Sytrus.

Of course. You should get them whenever there's an update to the Sytrus VSTi version (kvr will probably notify you if it's updated).

I thought that was all done with 3xOsc and a crudload of FX? (referring to the demo file included with FL6)

Yep that was 3xosc.

Here's the eagle sound:

Of the 6 parts, the first is the original wav. The second is the full preset, the sum of the remaining ones, which are the individual oscillators 1-4 respectively. Operators 5 and 6 have noisy shapes which modulate 1-4 to varying degrees.

Sytrus is a seriously powerful and fantastic sounding synth that can take a lot of skill to get the best out of (I should know, 'cos I can't).

Beautiful patches.

Wow, you are good DavenH!
A well-behaved signature.

Impressed!!!

I always thought Sytrus would lend itself perfectly for emulating birdsong - if anyone actually had the time and skill to do it (and the patience with those tiny fiddly controls!)
