a) insert Vocov in track1
b) insert Vocov capture in track2
c) send midi with your keyboard to track 1
d) send audio with your mic to track 2
instant vocoding
If I go insane, please don't put your wires in my brain

Ive been playing with this in Live, I really like the sound and with speech I find the ouput is more intelligeble than other freeware vocoders.
It seems very light on the CPU but I find that after a short period (10 to 20 minutes) the CPU readout in Live climbs from 10& to about 50%. I dont know if this is Live or Vocov but it doesnt happen with other plugs.
Once again, I really like this plug....many thanks

I think this is great & sounds quite a bit like the old Orange. Took a while how to figure out how to use, but is similar to the old Fx Vocoder. My only wish is to be able to input live modulator waves from a vsti.

Thank you.
And ... what a bout a Vocov capture for the carrier, too ?

hmmm...
for a while I had thought about this idea "Live Carrier from capture".
but I've decided if carrier is from another vsti, vocov should be vste instead of vsti, because MIDI-track of vocov will be almost meaningless

yes. So why not a release of a vsti AND a vst efx version ?g200kg wrote:hmmm...

This would make us able to use the nic sound engine as a "real" vocoder : speech on one side, and a synth of our choice (or drums, or another voice, or whatever) on the other side...
or even better (but i am dreaming) : feed a vouce as modulator using "capture", and being able to also freeze (capture in a buffer) incoming audio from another track to use it as carrier, and play that sampled-on-the-fly-in-a-buffer input using midi. It would make it an amazing stuff for live experimentation ! The carrier would work a little bit like Buffersynth Alpha, or heizenbox, or SqakAttack (capturing incoming audio signal, freezing it, and making the user able to play melodies or chords with it), BUT with the nice features of your vocoder !
(Well, this brings the instrument obne step ahead, ad makes it nearly something else, your plugin is really nice as a "classic" vocoder, and already replaced all my freebies ones !

ok, i have released the vocov 1.00

http://www.g200kg.com/software/index_e.html
after all, i have implemented the "carrier from capture" and "buffer freeze". it may pretty complicated.
http://www.g200kg.com/music/vocovdemo5.mp3
"You have selected Microsoft Sam as the computer's default voice."
*please note the preset is not fully compatible from older release.
have fun
