I don't want to be rude but are you sure you got the chords right? It does not sound like D#m7?bullshark wrote:Hi,
Got this chords sequence over a bassline and I tried to find a blues scale that would sound good with it. I'm having trouble, is there a trick to it?
Two chords that I'm playing with:
G: G-B-D
D#m7: D#-A#-C#-F#
Sounds like this.
So, am I stuck with going trough all the scales with a process of elimination, or is there a trick to it?
Thanks.
Is there a trick? Blues scale thingaminy...

Not rude, AMOF you win one hundred points (redeemable for cash at any guitar store, void only in Sweden); very good catch and thanks. You also discovered a bug in Guitar pro by the same token, when you change a chord in it, it changes the denomination above....but doesn't change the notes on the staff.BosseJo wrote: I don't want to be rude but are you sure you got the chords right? Here's some suggestions to get you started:
C minor pentatonic: C Eb F G Bb. I think the Bb could work here even if the G chord is major. But that's up to you. And you could play the F# here if you want but use your ears.
The bullshark scale: D D# (or Eb) F G Bb C D
C harmonic minor: C D Eb F G Ab B C

Think you're right BosseJo, no shortcut here, gonna have to work and build my own scale. Thank's.
No, that wasn't me.

Perhaps, perhaps not. Every tone works on every chord it's just a matter of how and when. I got the feeling listening to Bullshark's music that the A did not belong there. Omitting the A (and perhaps palying the Ab instead) sounded better. But feel free to play whatever you want. No hard feelings. Perhaps I would change my mind if I listened to it more.Toxikator wrote:BTW the "bullshark scale" is just the Phrygian without the 5th scale degree. If you added it in (D Eb F G A Bb C D) it probably works just as well
