SOMETHING has to be right. You can't have a wrong without a right.

you can have two people being wrong though in the absence of a correct solution.
and thats what we have here. no definitive solution and people trying to enforce their ideals on to the world.
you are wrong, there is no right.
Just because no one has the right answer doesn't mean there ISN'T one, though...

As you said, neither circle is right. I asked for a third solution, the RIGHT solution. If you can declare things as being wrong certainly there has to be at least SOME theoretical right...?

learn to understand, there are no absolutes.

Right, well... I started this thread because many threads past, Nuffink got mad that I said that Chordspace was only good for jazz.

he said that when it finally dawned on me that all harmony is a subset of Jazz harmony I should let him know.

I and JJF both pointed out how absolutely LUDICROUS that claim was. I asked him to back it up.

three pages later he had nothing but insults. I left the thread.

Nuffink, in a steam, went to the thread about implementing chords and tried to stir up a fight again, hoping he could win this one. His logic still worked up around the idea that all music should be handled and analyzed as if it were jazz.

Several sane people pointed out that threads kept getting hijacked by that bullshit.

I created this gutter thread as a way to collect that runoff, so that frustrated people like Nuffink and you could rail against me without ruining real threads.

That's why he's so important. This whole thing is really a product of him being mad that I put down Chordspace.

Oh yes there are. .wav files are absolutely the only notation system.

Red is Red and anything that is Red is an object, a class in itself or a real thing if you prefer"

Actually that's true.

this is just it's most recent battle.

I've been a part of it from as far back as that thread about polyrhythms and swing (I never DID find a satisfactory answer on how to work with that, btw), there was also I think that thing about Cage (though TBH I don't remember that being very awful at all), and then I'm sure it went even FARTHER back, long before KvR even HAD a theory board and before I showed up and started polluting the KvR domain ;)

Now I am really upset. Not everything is "classic" coke there is also a jazzy derivation.
