Yeah, a bullshit answer indeed.
I mean, if this is really the case, it's faulty design.
"Ok, let's build a master keyboard."
"Shit, we forgot aftertouch."
"Don't worry, let's just glue this aftertouch stripe in. None of our dumb users will notice that they'll lose some velociy resulution!"

Hmpf.
There are 3 kinds of people:
Those who can do maths and those who can't.

Eric and Sascha I totally agree,
it's really dissapointing, but what can I do?

it's really a bad design,
my AN1X has also aftertouch and the full velocity range.

But they made it cheap and that was their way to make the compromise,
and I dont like it.
sound is vibration, vibration is life

On velocity curve "C9" I can hit 127 quite easily on my Axiom 49, so I don't know really understand that answer from support. A friend of mine has an Axiom 61 and is REALLY particular about such things (so much so that I worry about him sometimes), and his can hit 127 under normal playing force as well. If yours really can't hit 127 on the most sensitive non-fixed velocity curve, and this is and issue for you (it wouldn't be for me, but that's just me), then I think you might want to consider having the M-Audio techs take a look at your second-hand board, perhaps the keybed assembly was jarred slightly out of place during shipping or something? I know the guy you talked to said it was normal, but perhaps you want to get a second opinion?
