Yeah, I do have drum-tracks...kirtap910 wrote:Do you have a drum-track in it?tuzemec wrote:All in all the track is saved, but XT2 still crashes when I close the project.
If you built your own drum-kit by dragging samples onto the pads of the opened drum-editor,
chance are high you get a crash on closing...
Just lost a project... :-(

I've been asking Jorgen to address this kind of problem in a couple of different threads. I repeat: make the program ignore missing or faulty VST: s and load the project anyway, perhaps with some kind of marker to show where in the audio chain something is missing.

Sonny-
I've been trying to understand what causes this problem. XT does ignore missing VST's. I even replaced a VST with a word document (named it the same as the vst.dll and stuck it in my VST folder) and XT loaded fine. So he is doing some error handling already.
You get a marker in the chain where the VST is missing currently.
I think the issue at hand happens when the VST can load but the VST has some kind of other (initialization?) issue inside XT, but I can't reproduce it. If that's the case try taking the vst that is giving you problems out of your vst directory to get XT to load.
Is the vst that gave you problems free? I don't have LINUX either but maybe Jens or Jorgen could try your file if they had the VST.

Soma:
OK, guess there is something wrong with my system then. Good to know that at least.
The VST causing the problem is "TrueVerb" in Waves. I'm using the dll. generated by that Shell2VST program.

Sonny, I'm a bit late to the party.
Exactly what happens when you try loading your project with TrueVerb in it?
And what happens if you rename TrueVerb then try loading the project?
As far as I can remember XT always had fun with Waves plugins.

Hi Darkstar! Been away for a while...
When I open a project I get an error message saying "openProject error: loading comp 'TrueVerb'"
Thats it. Xt2 stops loading the project.
The thing is that "TrueVerb" works with other projects, so I guess there is something wrong with this particualar one.
I have tried to rename it, but it doesn't work.

Did you try taking "Tru Verb" out of your VST folders efore opening the song?

is tru verb loaded straight in to XT2 or is it inside XT1 vst in XT2?
if its just in XT2 then removing the dll from the vst folder normally fix's this? (like soma suggested)

I missed this thread last night, but I posted in another thread the same sort of issue. It seems that DR16's "Nepheton" (TR-808 emulator) plugin causes some strange crashes and problems in XT2. Here is the error dialogue I get when I'm trying to open a previously saved song containing instances of the following plugins: DR16 Nepheton, CamelPhat, Predator, FM8, Massive, Elephant 2.

Upon quitting, I also get a Windows error message saying that Nepheton has caused the program to quit, so I don't know that CamelPhat is the problem, although others seem to think it might be.... I will report this to D16, obviously, but perhaps this error pop-up will provide some clue as to what's happening?
Thanks for your time!

Soma and djSubject: For some reason it doesn't fix the problem. Thanks anyway.

I tried opening a new project, then immediately opening the project that wouldn't open, and it worked. Strange. Seems almost random...

I saw that Jorgen mentioned he could debug the song file or something, so anyway, here's mine:
