the imac simply does not perform well. The cpu is a dog.......my much older amd 4000+ out performs the coreduo 2ghz dramatically.

Then there must have been something wrong with your machine. Seriously.

I was curious about it so I fired up Amplitube 2 on both OS X and Windows and they perform and sound the same on both systems for me.

For sure. On PC a single Core Sonoma at 2.0 Ghz wipes the floor with the AMD 4000+ or any given CPU from back then.

these are two different topics, my first one was this bizarre thing with at2 not sounding well on my intel mac. Yes it happened, yes it's weird, no I can't explain it.

the second one is just the facts. It is what it is.

I've taken the mac in again and we'll see if they can find something wrong with it this time.
