Squids-
I've been quietly sitting this one out, but since kevvvv brought it up, I've got to ask: Sonik Synth 2 has a huge collection of vintage synths, including, I believe, the Minimoog and others from the Moog line.

Plus, SS2 also has the ST shell. So is Samplemoog something I've got to get? Or do I save my dubloons for Studiophonik?

Note that I believe that I asked you a very similar question about CSR when it came out, and it turns out to have been some of the best money I've spent on my studio. :hihi:

Thanks

This isn't true. Unless there are unforeseen delays in printing/pressing it will be shipping some time this month. It's done.

That's in USD. But in Portugal (or any place outside of North America) you would be buying from IK or any regional dealer according to the Euro price list which is different.

It's a challenge-response code system just like that of SampleTank. It does not require a dongle.

Well, first, the samples are different in SampleMoog than Sonik Synth 2 even if SS2 does have some samples of Moogs. I sampled a different Mini and Polymoog in Sonik Synth 2 than the ones in SampleMoog for example.

To answer your question, it really comes down to how much you like Moog synths! If you like the authentic sound of Moog Modulars, Taurus Pedals, Minimoogs, Memorymoog, Polymoog and everything else then for a few hundred bucks... why not? The engine HAS been tweaked for it to be more Moog-like specifically than say Sonik Synth 2 which is more generalized.

It's hard to say who really NEEDS it per se but I think it's more of a question of who wouldn't want it if you like Moog synths? It's a Moog Synth Anthology. It even has the Radioshack MG-1 in there for crying out loud (which was my first synth ever and I re-bought one not too long ago and I love that little thing!!!!).

It's pretty darn cool. But then again, that's why we did it! Ideally, anyone who gets all of the Sonik Instruments will have one serious keyboard/production set up. It's a set up I personally want to build for what I do. I was talking to Tony Banks about SampleMoog at the show and he was really excited about the Taurus Pedal sounds since he loves that sound but hasn't found it in keyboards before. Genesis still use the hardware Taurus Pedals on tour now just for "that sound".

I can't believe it's on the X-Grade for all :-o

If you want it, I'd snap it up before they change their minds ;-)

Yup. That's what I thought. I think you got me. Again. :bang:

Name dropper. :D

Kidding aside, SampleMoog looks like a great package.

Is the X-Grade price on the Esoundz site? I couldn't find it if it is. Could someone provide a link?

Cheers

X-Grade means Crossgrade For All. More info is at the bottom of this page:

Yes, Berfy, we'll have the SampleMoog Crossgrade available on esoundz tomorrow. One thing though, it says that it is shipping there but there's no stock yet so it isn't QUITE shipping yet (but will be some time this month). So, we still have it as "pre-order" on esoundz until we actually have it in stock.

This looks like it's gonna be another fix for us sound junkies. I love eSoundz!!

"IK Multimedia has announced that SampleMoog, the "Moog Synth Anthology Virtual Instrument", is now shipping."

I suspect that means that it's on it's way to dealers but.....
Play what you feel and feel what you play.

X-Grade or Crossgrade for all is an IK customer loyalty discount basically. If you own any version of one of their products including bundled with something else but excluding a free version, you get a discount. So, versions of Amplitube and SampleTank that come with Tracktion, Stealthplug, Pro Tools...etc qualify. Sonik Synth free which you d/l from their site does not qualify.
Play what you feel and feel what you play.

I've asked this a couple of times before without any answer. Will SampleMoog behave like the real thing (like low note priority keyboards etc)?
