Sounds good though.

RVMKII is extremly good for distortion, better than anything else on the market IMHO, but is still a bit weak in the cleans department. AT2 is exactly the opposite. AT2JHE is another very good distortion/ high gain ampsim.Amberience wrote:Revalver2 killed the search for me.
The Axe-FX, acoording to many, seems to be good in all disciplines, but the sounds that Andrew posted did not convince me that it is that much better that the clips he posted of AT2.

Hink wrote:as I see it there is no reason to compare it to AT2 or any other soft sim...this is hardware which already starts out with huge benefits imo...I don't like soft sims as much because of latency issues, that makes them really only useful for me as re-amping tools (please note I said for me). I feel very strongly about my amp solutions providing their own processing power and not relying on the computer...so it beats AT2 hands down for me...but this news comes at a bad time for me...A3ntar wrote:I know that Andrew was pretty found of Amplitube 2 and he managed to get decent sounds from it. Andrew, it's cool that you found something that works for you, would you mind telling us how you even got to demoing the unit if only for curiousity's sake? The price alone would have kept me away or instead lead me to buy an actual JCM800 or something.

It sounds fine.......but I'd like to hear it against something other than "simulated" drums, organ, etc.........
btw, is it my imagination or was this a "hit and run" where the op starts a fairly controversial thread and runs and hides? Or is he coming back?

and I'll put my dukes up for this one.........
Am I the only one who no longer wants to hear wining and moaning from someone unless they can actually play very very well!
It's unbelievable how average (or in many cases much worse) players are constantly bitching about it not being vintage, tube, sweet, etc when what they really need is LESSONS!

Even as I type, in between, I'm trying to get my chops up WHILE enjoying my weapon of choice and was just thinking "DAMMIT!" If you are going to go all like that........at least have some inspirational chops!
Oh, and you're right.........it's certainly not about price/etc......we all have the right to overpay for gear we can't use!

actually what you said hibidy is complete, utter hogwash
You know it's possible for someone to know what they like and dislike without living up to your approval...really I'm trying to find a way to put this nicely but it's not easy...but then again I'm not going to lower myself to your standards...see yah
