This is one of my favorite synths! At some point, I've got to find a way to use the pitch bending stuff, as I use midi guitar stuff. I've held a note down in savihost and tweaked the virtual pitch bend knob at the left, it's pretty cool.

At some point, I'll manage to add an option for MIDI guitarists, RunBeer listen to my idea: a guitar string (midi channel) for every module with independent pitchbends...(!) You might like it? Or maybe some other optional configurations...RunBeerRun wrote:This is one of my favorite synths! At some point, I've got to find a way to use the pitch bending stuff, as I use midi guitar stuff. That would be nice, if it's cpu-friendly-ish. I don't understand how I will actually bend pitches.

Hi Alieno users,
Today I added a PayPal button - donations are welcome! I setted the donation to € 5.00 (Five Euros) (of course if you want to send more you can apply it many times) - I hope it all works well! Cheers, Andrea

No problem, I'll donate some. We sure could use some Alieno Landing Edition patches! It's easy to make cool ones, but there are only like 7.

I'll appreciate a lot your contribution, RunBeerRun! I schedule the beta 1.1 version for April 2008 but it might be sooner, and it will features new fx including the ones from Landing Edition. New patches will come for that period, including also a special flanger effect that most DJs will like a lot, I guess...but there's the Scene Bank coming in weeks, anyway, and it has more that 50 new sounds for the regular edition!RunBeerRun wrote:No problem, I'll donate some. Tried out the modwheel pitch shift stuff, I have a midi guitar with a digital whammy bar. I like 3 and 4 octaves down.
Kind of a hassle though as it presses down near the string triggers, often causing note-offs.

Hi, Run,
Please,
Can you explain me better "as it presses down near the string triggers"?
and
Are u controlling the modulation wheel (MIDI Control CC #1)
or the pitchbend with the whammy bar?
more,
actually I'm building alternative MIDI Maps for various hardware controllers, so
what's yours btw? If it sends MIDI control messages, surely I can build a dedicated map for that device..
cheers,
Andrea

Acrobat wrote:H "as it presses down near the string triggers"?
=I press the digital whammy bar down on my guitar-thing, and if you touch the metal string-like triggers, it causes note-off. So I bend the whammy bar down to the right of that, where a typical guitar's volume and tone knobs go.

=I don't know what the whammy bar exactly controls, but in Alieno, on the "bend range" settings, that definitely changes in conjunction with whammy bar usage. So it's not a standardf pitchbend range, with any other synth it is, but with Alieno it goes with your bend range settings.

=I have no idea. I'm running this guitar into a sysex script, then into midiyoke then reaper, so even if there are some cc parameters used by pressing buttons, they would be cancelled out by the script. The buttons, such as octave up/down on the guitar don't do anything after I'm going through this script, only if I hook the guitar's midi out directly to reaper, and this guitar sucks like that.
cheers,
Andrea

Cool news, downloading now. I'll throw a couple bucks your way, this synth never gets old here.

The updated GUI is very nice - the moving strummers are great.
Sound - as ever, excellent!
Overall a very good update - thankyou.
