If you have a fast connection maybe it's better/easier to download the latest version of the wavs (or the sf2 and extract the wavs then using SFZed, see the readme). Unless it's just a matter of batch renaming.
So, are there a new set of .wav files with the "-r" in the name? Is it worth updating my set of samples? What's the difference?

@opia: Instead of renaming samples, you could open the .scm files in a text editor and edit the file to point to the right sample names - you could accomplish this with a global change command.

I tried this too before using the workaround (sf2->sfz->scm). Worked but all the samples had zero release once imported in SC. This is easy to solve even for a SC noob like me but I wanted to split the whole kit to different groups and it seemed easier to me to do it at the sfz stage using a text editor 8)
