ChickenSys are also responsive. It just takes a bit of effort to get things from test to finished.fandango wrote:It's a pity there aren't more competitors to ChickenSys you could approach. The maker of ExtremeSampleConverter and SampleLord has always been a responsive dev in all my dealings with him. Perhaps he'd be interested in writing a conversion engine for DW?

Ah cool. I'd got the impression that they were not keeping up on their side. It'll be good to get .nki support back in FL8 as I've converted all my AKAI CDs, Gigastudio libraries and SF2s to that.

ImageLine, please listen to your customers. this is a feeling shared by many about the response to support and fixing bugs. We all paid for something that doesn't work and needs to be fixed. If you have been waiting all this time for ChickenSystem then maybe you should go elsewhere to find the solution.hadees wrote:June? obviously its a guess. Anyway Im done with this.reflex wrote:June? Where did you get that?hadees wrote:reflex wrote:(I hope early next year (January)).

So the update will probably come in June?! I'm dumping Directwave and looking for something more stable. Image line will not see anymore of my Money, not that they care either way.

That would only make the wait a lot longer.mw wrote:ImageLine, please listen to your customers. this is a feeling shared by many about the response to support and fixing bugs. What do you find unstable about the current beta?tibor wrote:any idea when a stable, definitive release of directwave 1.4 will be available?
Normally the final DW 1.4 will be released later this month.

the last beta i tried was great apart from having noise on the output... first i thought it was me doing something wrong but then i chicken converted and loaded the same .nki (DW1.25 wouldn't open it) patch i was using in 1.4beta in 1.25 and the noise went away. a pity too, because apart from the clicks and pops audio quality seems to have improved.reflex wrote:What do you find unstable about the current beta?tibor wrote:any idea when a stable, definitive release of directwave 1.4 will be available?

Can you give me the steps necessary to reproduce this?tibor wrote:the last beta i tried was great apart from having noise on the output... first i thought it was me doing something wrong but then i chicken converted and loaded the same .nki (DW1.25 wouldn't open it) patch i was using in 1.4beta in 1.25 and the noise went away. a pity too, because apart from the clicks and pops audio quality seems to have improved.

haven't been online lately, sorry for the delay in answering.reflex wrote:Can you give me the steps necessary to reproduce this?tibor wrote:the last beta i tried was great apart from having noise on the output... first i thought it was me doing something wrong but then i chicken converted and loaded the same .nki (DW1.25 wouldn't open it) patch i was using in 1.4beta in 1.25 and the noise went away. a pity too, because apart from the clicks and pops audio quality seems to have improved.
i downloaded the 1.4 beta from the imageline forum, installed and ran the vsti in energyxt2 ... loaded the nki (kontakt 2 most likely, wouldn't load on previous version of dw) file that came with some thor synth sample packs on a musictech dvd and recored midi to the XT2 sequencer... rendered audio from the dw 1.4 vsti instance had noise in it.
chicken converted the nki files to directwave files... loaded the patch.... no noise. the output volume was way down though... probably related with improvements in dw1.4 (gain value now being multiplied by instead of added to the volume, as i read somewhere)

Should have put money on this.reflex wrote:And obviously if I say before March, I don't intend to release by June. It's always possible that something unforeseen happens, but as far as I can tell it will be before March.hadees wrote:June? obviously its a guess. Anyway Im done with this.

Believe it or not, DW 1.4.1 is ready to be released. The final version is downloadable from the Public Betas forum on our site. I can't upload it to the actual download server yet due to file permission issues, should be solved soon.hadees wrote:Should have put money on this.![]()
As for March, that turned out to be hopeful indeed. And I've been out with a dislocated shoulder for over a month in April/May, and have been catching up until now (still not fully healed, but good enough to work at least).
