yeah, by that development speed we will finally see a good hostsoftware in, when? 2030?
i am so deeply dissapointed of in particular xt2 ... i was putting all my hope into thatone, as never something looked more promising to me ... will never do such again ... exept some features xt1x still heavily outperforms xt2 ... such a shame ...
ahhh ... sorry ... forget it ... simply couldn't hold back ...
on with the topic ...

i'd really like a fix for ... xt2 ...

:hihi:

but also: :-(

I still remember when everyone and their grandma flamed me for thoroughly criticizing XT2 and its development last year - I also predicted that the dissatisfaction of the user-base will become worse and worse - I only tried to warn.

And look at what we got now.

Post

I want "Midi out is now working properly"
not "Back space now works also as delete"

Post

jens,
honestly, i don't care anymore if i get flamed ... i really got over that ... but sometimes, deep inside, when i come here and read this, i get a flashback on how promising everything looked ... 100's of posts of supporting jorgen with knowledge-based ideas which he even agreed on to implement ...
i know it sounds stuck up, but i ain't ...it's the simple truth and a class by itself when i say that xt2 went into the complete wrong direction, compared to what picture was provided at the time a new xt was announced ...
yes, i can use it to make music ...
but i can use an atari with steinbergs 24 track to do so as well ...
this is not against jorgen, i'm sure he does the best he can to do what he has in mind ... it's a personal dissapointment, though shared by a hughe crowd ...

prinzip hoffnung? wenns um xt2 geht, dann is da nix mehr bei mir ...

Lies. You can deallocate / unload the DLL and remember what VST + FXP that was loaded. the state would be the same.
That's how an action-based undo system works. You don't undo the instance, you undo the action. IE. You reverse the action + have some state info about the action. Like current preset and path to DLL.

bei mir schon... but:

I don't know how I should say this without being offending and sounding arrogant...

...well, I already mentioned before that I'm wondering what Jorgen's targeted user-base these days is, and my impression is, that one source of the problem is, that in Norway trance and techno is very fashionable right now.

Have a look at this video posted by the offcial energyXT2 Youtube-channel:

I think this video says more than a thousand words possibly could.

And then there's this:

Listen to the backing track for the singeress

I mean, without commenting on the quality of the music, it's not that demanding when it comes to the software that's used for it - it could be made with almost anything. So I think if those musicians whisper 'XT2 is great' in Jorgen's ear, it doesn't really tell too much about the real quality of the application, while he might believe it does.

I want multi-core, I want linux and OS X to have vst versions....I want rex preiview, Proper memory management, sends to not bleed, and updates to the drum track i.e. multi outputs per drum track.. Behringer deal is done, now lets hop to it!

(yes i can afford to be a little more positive, as should anyone who bought verion 1 and got this version--free like I did. cant make music with it right now? try some other hosts maybe you would move on...its not like XT2 wouldnt continue developing in your absence. hell I use XT2 and other hosts because I help a lot of studios setup software and what not..but no matter what Ive used from samplitude to tracktion 3(ugh) to FL8 now with anime fruity dancer lol I still come back in hopes XT2 reaches that "point" )
i am me and i am free...k thx bai

just what i feel .. and, as opposed to you (i assume), i actually like contemporary club/dance music, or whatever this style is called ...
your point is right, it could've been done with every tracker/sequencer out there as well, so it doesn't point out even the adorable features that xt2 has and what makes it special - because it does't have too many of those ... not that it needs to reinvent the wheel as it's there already, it was the _workflow_ that i was about when xt2 was announced to be programmed ... i thought it will be enhanced to not only a full fledged sequencer, but to enhance the concept/uniqueness of xt1x ... which it doesn't ... it's not even right on par with xt1x on a lot of terms ... and i'm not talking about the modular approach, but aswell in the sequencerpart ...

Hopefully that coming net list has some nice surprises added before the new beta comes out... If not then I wonder where it's going. In that case I would ask where are the innovations and really meaningful updates instead of some nice but still minor bugfixes..

Post

Being a Mac person, I was glad to see a working version of XT myself. Being a Logic person, I'm partial to a linear sequencer also... When I had XT on my PC I tried to set it up the same way, and it seemed to me the people who had trouble "getting it"... It was because of the modular aspect of the program, i.e. you had to create basically from scratch, how you wanted the program to work. Now I see a lot of people "liked" it that way! Hmmmm... I can see it both ways now! I wish I had spent more time exploring the modular aspect of it on the PC, but again, It's nice to have a version working on the Mac... Just did a skin for it too! Wow, a lot of work! :)

For the couple (or so) being sarcastic or cynical over updates to the list, it should be pointed out that the list isn't complete as soon as it's added necessarily. Quite often that list is added to. Just because one small thing is added that seems unimportant does not mean better things will not show up for the same update.

Just felt the need to point that out.

It is often the case that if something is dumbed down for more people, abilities are lost that the people who "got" it earlier use. This has happened a lot here. New people to XT also had this forum to ask, and templates could be shared to set it up for people newer to the program.

Now it does not work like that. The only problems to help with seem to half the time be unanswerable because not enough people use the program and/or not enough functionality exists in the program, and the other half the time bugs. Because it is easier, a fair amount of the people who used to use the program seem to be sticking to the older version, and since that is not being updated... It causes not much useful talk on this forum. Newbies don't need to ask as many questions (which is great, but...).

The older users do seem to have a point, but since I am one, does that mean I am biased and have no weightier opinion? I don't know anymore.

Also, happy tree clouds. :)

Would you mind reading my entire posts before calling me a lieyer. That's an insult

ext keeps them in memory for the undo. I actually posted your method as an improvement.

I thank you
