From what I understand, drumcore can export it's content as rex2 files (someone correct me if this is wrong)... for $99, it would be worth it just for access to those rex files, even if you don't use the rewire plug in part...

Just a heads up.

Hi Mike,

I haven't tried the 2.5 demo but they list Vista compatibility...are you sure it's Vista that's causing your problem?

If you do not have Stylus RMX, BUY THAT NEXT - you will thank me for the next few years - it's that good.

You said you bought the rex stuff, but you did not list RMX, so I am not sure if you have it.

RMX is the best percussion synth in my arsenal - and I have nearly all of what you mentioned as well.

Stormdrum is another must have (and storm drum 2)

I was hung up between GURU and RMX. But the deal I got on GURU ($99) was incredible. And now, I don't know if there's really anything in RMX that I can't already do in GURU. But for the right RMX deal, who knows...

I've also considered Storm Drum, but I think the added kits from Battery 3 really cover a lot of this ground. But again, if I get a great deal...

Drumcore also overlaps a bunch of the things I've got, but for the right deal, why not?

FWIW, I recently re-organized my studio, and I've got a long shelf that runs the full width of the room. Displayed on it are all the boxes for all the music software I've got. I didn't really realize that I had that much. And that's not including all the downloadable stuff, both paid and free.

Is there a 12 step program for KVR'ers? I've got more software than Imelda Marcos has shoes. :hihi:

But hey, like I tell my wife, some guys drink... :D

Is this true? If so, that's a pretty kick ass feature.

My thought exactly, but I haven't seen anything that says that. It imports them, but I'd be surprised if it exports them. Would love confirmation from someone if it does actually export rex2.

look under export:

but this is from harmony central

"REX2 support - easily export DrumCore content as REX2™ files"

I would still like confirmation from anyone that owns it.

I've simply resigned myself to the fact that Squids has a direct line to my wallet

LMAO,,, mine, too.

I'm going to be looking at this one really close. I'm frustrated with Sonar's lunky loop handling, and from what I've read, Drum Core might be a good solution.

Here's a few questions. How good is the exchange through Rewiring, vs something else that is a vst?

Does Drum Core actually handle REX loops?

Are the drum core midi patterns usable in other apps?

How well will this handle my RAW stuff, basically.

$100 sounds like a no brainer already, but I'm looking at EZ Drummer, too, and I can't get both right now.

Ha! Too true. I may still talk myself out of why I'd need DC, given I already have Kontakt, Ultrabeat, Battery, Stylus, Reason and numerous loops/kits in Rex and Appleloop form, but for $99 I might still take the plunge as I've seen DC demo'ed at AES and it was pretty slick.

I think most of your questions are best answered by checking out the demo:

I haven't found it yet.

As to some, though:

DC handles Rex loops (and you can import your own REX...such as R.A.W....into DC, but I think it actually requires you a duplicate copy during the import rather than just a pointer to pre-existing folders). I would think it would work well with R.A.W., but haven't tried it out myself to know for sure.

You can drag/drop the DC midi patterns into Logic and other programs so you can edit the midi and have it trigger other software instruments or external hardware.

Cheers,
Mark

If I remember correctly, they say 2.5 works with vista, but 2.0 WILL NOT INSTALL on vista.

Since I have the 2.5 UPGRADE, it requires me to install 2.0, which I cannot do.

So I am stuck.

I'll try it again, but EVERYTHING I own installed fine on Vista EXCEPT Drumcore.

It's a bit pricy at $199, but who knows where it might go with a good Squids package -- hopefully including some of the add-ons that eSoundz already sells.

As low as $99 with additional sound packs! So hang tight we'll have it up this week!
Couldn't help but notice that it's now the END OF THE WEEK! :D

So clear the decks and let's get rolling... :hihi:

Hey Mike....why don't you contact them and tell them your issue? I don't really know about their support but it's worth a try ....

We're starting on Monday. It's Drum Core 2.5 as low as $99 AND even comes with some packs! So... another killer deal basically. It CAN read your rexes. There's also a $50. plug-in called KitCore that reads the kits from these (and you can export the Rexes from it I believe to use with your DAW if you get that). It WILL work with your RAW and more. You can also bring in samples to make kits really easily. It has a little Battery/MPC pad section. Cool software even if you have other drum and loop products. At this price you might as well have this one too!

So hang on and come this Monday rev your engines. We've got another group buy for ya! This time drums and loops with Submersible. It includes some famous drummers in there... we might even through in a few famous drummers of our own into the mix! Gonna be good!!!!!!

PS. It's the straight 2.5, not an upgrade and should work on Vista. Karma, we'll find a way to help you with yours if we can.

Looks great! :tu:

Can't wait to get started on this one!!

So, if I understand Squids' description, the REX2 export feature is only with the KitCore add-on. But the Submersible site comparison chart seems to indicate that Drum Core 2.5 contains EVERY feature of the KitCore products, including REX export. The only feature KitCore seems to have that DrumCore 2.5 doesn't is VST v. ReWire/Standalone capability. http://www.submersiblemusic.com/content ... Matrix.pdf

Is this correct? A definitive answer would go a long way toward a real blow out Group Buy. (But even without the REX export feature, it's still a great deal. :hihi: )
