Man this thing is awesome for hardcore industrial! Just put a distortion after it.
I don't know if his kid designed exactly what on it, but this is sweet.
Even better than Superrubbish.

tbh,it's not too complex.
he worked through the synthedit tutorial and made a basic synth.
then he just messed around with the properties/ranges,typing in ridiculously high numbers until things blew up.then i'd have to suggest that he lowered things a bit.
then he chose a couple of effects/math modules, and reconnected some filters+sliders+stuff.
pretty haphazard really.i just suggested what was possible and rescued things when they got dangerous.
like when he insisted on 87-note polyphony so he could put evey single note on hold..with reverb!
i had to explain that it would blow up his friends computers . so he compromised for 8.
(the graphics were made in tuxpaint then finished off in paint.net+knobman.
i think i did most of the text files, cos he can't spell too good atm and was getting bored.)
really he was just watching me one day and kept pestering me to let him have a go at connecting the wires.i was surprised, cos things that we might find boring, like right-click/properties or file/insert/modules/filters/lp blah blah,he really enjoyed.so i've learned not to assume what kids like and let them lead a bit.

Figured out some features today, the stop/go is mono/poly, and the lfo seems to affect the filter.
I like how the lfo rate, the army vehicle doesn't go straight across, it kind of angles.

tell your boy he's done better than a lot of grown ups could have. myself included. i've never had the determination to take a SE tutorial. it's awesome to know a boy and his da are doing things like this.
the world is allright tonight.

grymmjack,
Well said.
Bluedad,
I'm right there with you. My son has been asking me to create a sponge bob game using one of the game engines we use for other projects (he is really into spongebob).
I finally had him sit down and help me create a level. It was really amazing watching my 8-year old create buildings and terrain. I never figured he was capable at that age.
Just goes to show you.
Congrats to your son - he has a future in synth design (a lot smarter than me).
Mike

thanks for the kind words guys, yeah they sure are more capable than a lot of people give then credit for.
he'll be pleased when i tell him that people are having fun with his synth.
runbeerrun;the lfo can be routed to the filter,amp or pitch;
bottom left corner-earth/rasberry or cake!
our tank should run straight across those cats!?
which is the lfo rate,
the shapes to the left is the lfo shapes oc.
and the crazy flower is the lfo amount.....as if it ain't obvious.
and no-one found the secret button yet then?
