Yeah you might of missed one of the updates I did to the other comp-1. But I bet it's mostly the interface making you use more of your ears. Can't get distracted by the numbers. I do prefer the FFC-1 myself. I get better feel from it then comp-1. Next on the list is to port feed-back over.bduffy wrote:Jesus, Vieris: what are you trying to do to me, man? Either it's easier for me to control it with the (very nice!) new GUI, or you've done some tweaking! Short attack times don't sound farty anymore, and I'm getting just the most amazing, snappy compression from this, and I can get nice, heavy, thick compression from it too. I'm practically in ecstacy over here as I throw it on the drum busses and push "all buttons in"! Wow.
I mean, check this shit out:
EZDrums, dry
EZDrums, 1 instance ffc-1 on full bus
EZDrums, ffc-1 on every channel + parallel compression
EZDrums, parallel channel only
Love, dude. Serious freakin' love. Amazing job! I'm going to be using these from now on. Wow.

Awesome, man. I'm so impressed! I must've missed something; I sure prefer this layout, the gain reduction meter; great stuff.vieris wrote:Yeah you might of missed one of the updates I did to the other comp-1. So what's up with those pass filters? You say they're "not the average", and I have to say, they're a little unusual; I'm still getting used to them for cutting with.

I've downloaded them all, I'll probably stick one on the master bus tomorrow and see if it's cool there.
I really like the other eq's you recently put out, stick em on the master bus, and it really changes my sound but it's really cool.

I was just saying that because filters tend to be passed over. But I tried to make these guys have more musical application then the standard highpass lowpass. The with variable slopes & times10/divided by 10 extended ranges. I use filters on almost everything. I will cut at least 80hz off everything but kick/bass. These guys will atleast give me more color choices then my current goto EQ. The highpass can give you some extreme resonance effects as well if abused.bduffy wrote:Awesome, man. I'm so impressed! Dude, that is exactly what I do when I'm mixing. I noticed that your pass filters tended to default to a higher "Q" setting than most, and honestly, I kind of figured that these felt like the kind of "day-to-day" mixing filters that one would use on tracks. At any rate, I like the sound; the usual problem I have is that the bottom-most frequency range that I tend to use for pass-filtering is represented in a very tight range on the dial, and most of the irrelevant frequencies take up the remainder of the dial. Frankly, I'd rather have a dedicated LPF from 20-200hz, with accurate ranges possible. But that's ideal. I think you're very close here. The only thing I find puzzling about your plugins is the very, very tight range on the sliders.vieris wrote:I was just saying that because filters tend to be passed over. I would off course LOVE to have AU versions of these.
And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make.

Whoa I went to mixdown, dropped peak-1 on the master bus, and bam it sounded great on the low end. I'll donate a couple bucks your way. Thanks!
