Question for Peter:

Other than the provided drumkits ... what value does it give me above RM-3 + CM-505 ?

Is it possible that CM-505 was TOO good ?

(I'll probably get RM-IV anyway, even though I just got RM-3 in mid-April)

Indeed we thought about doing such a free instrument for quite a while but I must admit I love CM and I liked the idea to contribute to theri great mag.

RM IV btw has improved synthesized drums (more tweaking options than in CM-505)

I'll second that. When I was beta testing RM IV, the easy on the eyes and well laid out, logical gui was the first thing that struck me about RMIV. You can literally use LMIV for hours and still maintain your focus and creativity! And in the end, that's what it's all about.

The hard part is having to decide which of the 2500 Drum/Percusssion sounds to use. What a problem to have!

Was that the original LM-4 or the LM-4 Mk II?

RM IV looks pretty awsome. I really like how the acoustic kit sounds too. I have a question, can you link pads to each other? So can you trigger more than one pad with one key? Just curious, I like to layer my drums a lot. Thanks.

Dang! That should have read 'RM IV' not LM IV!

But then you knew that! :D

Wow, this is pretty good stuff - I've already put together some cool beats using only CM505.

Thanks Peter :)

AD80: Yes, you can program the pads on the RMIV to respond to any note number, so you can link them just by assigning them to the same key.

So, Cm-505 is a cut-down version of RM-IV with the same algorithms but limited tweakability?
