No jumping required. It is a false positive. And, if it isn't and the AV software is any good, it will find and remove the problem.

It's much better to jump to the conclusion that two fairly obscure anti-virus programs have discovered the virus Izotope hid in the vinyl.dll that the major anti-virus programs have missed this whole time, even though Izotope Vinyl is hugely popular and must be installed on tens of thousands of machines.

Good catch, you've saved us all!

Antivirus' always find things that aren't really a threat, and they don't find things that really are a threat... they're total BS.

I'm running OS X, and I use a firewall. Have not had any problems. I run Windows in Parallels (rarely), if anything happens to it I just replace the virtual machine folder with the backup.

Anti virus engines delete a big percent of virus spam emails and save organizations and end users like you the trouble of getting huge network traffic and headaches. So no, they're not total BS.

probably a false positive, as i'm sure when vinyl was packed this one didn't even yet exist (vinyl is OOOOLLLLLDDDD)

Nope, Cartman had AIDS and gave it to Kyle. Kenny dies from freak accidents.

Don't have a clue Optomadic and couldn't care less to be honest. The way i look at it is: if has anything to do with audio i take note & if it does not then i take no notice. I dont store any really important stuff on the machine and put backups on dvd's and a couple of steady external drives which are hooked up only to backup or restore

I am more worried about some rat bastard routing through my dustbins for bank statements and the like than routing through my PC ;)

So to remedy that i got one of them shredders that really shreds the papers i dump in it like confetti :tu:

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to jump in and confirm that Vinyl 1.73 does not have a virus. We had our QA guys take a look at this today and we haven't found a problem. As someone noted, Vinyl has been around for quite a while. You should feel confident downloading and installing Vinyl 1.73 from the iZotope website. Thanks
