Remember this example of the Matrix6 I posted some time ago?

I think this 'new' synth sounds better. And it really shouldn't, at least according to popular belief.

it's really impossible to tell. all we can hear in this is that it's got a slightly bright ramp and has a phaser or allpass/notch modes included in the filter and probably (if it's an internal filter) multiple modulators.
not a huge amount of distinctive character in this patch to go by.

It's none of the above mentioned.

no, why? the sound, though nice, is not that outstanding to get a clue of what synth it could be ... at this point it could be 100's of vsti's ...living sounds wrote:Well that's the whole point of it, isn't it?brok landers wrote: hmm ... really hard to tell ... more different sound examples maybe?
more hints, or more audio examples ...living sounds wrote:I wouldn't have guessed it. Just a little hint: That's really not the kind of sound you'd associate with this synth...

Not Tal-u-no. And I won't disclose anything else.

so given that this could take a while as its a sound that pretty much most synths with added delay and reverb(not specified) can achieve, can you explain the excitement over given patch?living sounds wrote:Not Tal-u-no. And I won't disclose anything else.

I'm hearing Van Halen's '1984' so I'll automatically think Oberheim or Prophet emulation (depending on which you believe played that).
I am guessing it isn't one of my SSP synths because it is too clean... but that may be the fx you used.
But really it could be almost anything hard or soft from the last 15 years.
edit: Actually I read some clues and I think you may be telling us that it is an SE synth???
