:help: :D
Hey cold c, what is this "dunk step sequencer" you speak of?

thanks,

hi drez,

Dunk's step sequencer can be found here http://www.smartelectronix.com/~dunk/

There is also stepchild which is available here http://www.kvr-vst.com/forum/viewtopic. ... 332#257332

I prefer dunk's plug for monophonic synths, but you might have to work out how to use VST midi plugins in your host.

Edit:
I see your sig mentions tracktion, I don't know if dunk's plugs will work, but you might as well try.

Thanks cold c, I'll check dunk's out. I really want to use it for mono stuff, so I'll give it a shot. I can't get Stepchild yet because ModulR is still working on it. I'm really used to Reasons Matrix, but it has the shortcomings of no sliding, etc and obviously doesn't help me with VST's, so I'm on the hunt for a VST step sequencer.

??????

The Matrix in Reason has no shortcomings in the slide department, whatsoever.....

I agree though that its totally useless for VSTi's.
No, that Glitch is meant to be there.....

Isn't there any way to route the midi from the matrix to a VSTi via rewire?

If not, then there should be. (or is there no need anymore?)

'kin hell...just had a good, thorough twiddle with Tau 2 in SX, sending through Quadrafuzz and Reverb B.

Acid mayhem...pass the blotter

I've seen quite a few people asking "what's the best distortion to use with Tau2" now, here and elsewhere. I do still rather like M-Drive myself for a more subtle overdriven tone (as used in the demo tune) but what other plugins are people using? we'd like to hear some recommendations!

I used the native Orion 2-Band Distortion in this track, its got a good harshness too it:

...and i used the Muon M-Drive on this track, for a more subtle feel:

There is also izotope trash, currently on special offer I think. I only have the demo at the moment (that may change soon  .) Works nicely on tau 2 with only the trash and buzz sections enabled.

If you're using FLStudio, their Fast Dist works great with Tau2. A little goes a long way though. :)
