I can do that in FL Synthmaker. Can you post a new thread with CLEAN, CROPPED examples of these "Deftones drum sounds" you mention?

They are a rock band with acoustic drums, sorry to be confusing, I sometimes make dance music and sometimes make rock music and sometimes make rock music and dance music at the same time!

Same here

I've emulated a real snare ( not an 808 ) in FL Synthmaker a few months back with excellent results. A couple years from now I may release a full set of Rock drum plugins, with many controls (such as velocity, and where the drum is hit, and what it is hit with (brush or stick), etc).

Just as stated earlier it's fm Synthesis. It can be (I say can because with FM synthesis there is as many ways as there is producers to get the same exact sound) made with as less as 4 OSC. Only one out wich is a square modulated by 3 sins wich are modulated between them as wanted. You add some chorus (usually 4 voices will do the job) and Unison (2 voices).

don't forget to defase the sound a bit (freq offset)

Also put a lb filter wich has a fast cut

You can add a little bit of very fast delay but it's a matter of reference, i prefer my basses without: sounds a little less metallic and more hard like Spencer & hill remixes of shine on and when the sun comes down

The difference between dave darell bass and Spencer & hill has a lot to do with the lp filter . SPencer & hill having more cut resulting in that kind of choked bass we hear in the 2 remixes that I stated earlier

But for klaas well got no idea. But i would really like to know how he dit it in infinity and no more fear. the quality is really up a notch especially in no more fear

Square waves with a high amount of bitcrusher.
Please feed the bitcrusher with "loud" signals, to avoid cancelations or "thinning" by the bitcrusher
