NONE of the House producers were well versed in Music Theory. Do you really think Larry Heard sat down and thought about diminished triads and or 'half diminished' 7th chords or whatever?? give me a break...
There's no problem in learn some theory, though. Most deep house music seems to rely on some chords, what gives it the identity.

Dogglounge radio is a good source of inspiration. :)

Another thing to bear in mind is that you don't necessarily have to learn the chords - there is software that will form the chords from a single note. Some DAWs can do this.

Yes, calm down and more than that LEARN TO READ. I said nothing about a diminished seventh. Your own statement confirms exactly what I typed.

My Quote in full:
I believe for a minor 7th chord, robojam's notes are correct.
Your quote:
C to Bb, a MINOR 7th.

I was not sure if Robojam's description was correct about the diminished seventh, so I deliberately did not address it in my response. (He has corrected this description in a later post.) I did not feel the need to immediately rip him apart as you apparently and quite erroneously felt you needed to do to my post. Instead I constructively pointed out that he did provide the right information for a minor seventh chord. If you weren't so anxious to yell at someone, you might have realized you were actually agreeing with me.

Dmin7, Amin7, Gmin7 as the main progression. Would have to notate the break or post a MIDI file. Which I won't.

If you're not able to figure out these most easy progressions on your own (really, they're as basic as it gets), I advice you to take some lessons first instead of trying to produce house music, simply because you will fail otherwise.
