Man, slap a track in Ableton Live, let it play, and your done. DJing is not what it used to be. You don't need the turntables, you just need a decent media player. Anything that plays music, that's the whole point.
There are so many different DJs out there nowadays, I don't even want to be called one. Its such a crappy life, getting paid to do nothing.
But there are like, 3 types of DJs, Party DJ, Techno/electronic DJs, and turntablists DJs.
I honor the turntablists, they can really rock at what they do. But the others are a little iffy. Electro style DJs use computers to mix and play there content. I like this style, but it has to be done right. When your playing your own tracks live, you want to mix and remix and duke out the sound a lot for it to be really special. Same gos for the process of creating your work, too.
But then, the "party" DJs, the ones that do weddings, parties, dances, birthdays. Those guys suck. The only way they couldn't suck is if they did there job in a different way that nobody has ever done, but they would still suck.
These DJs are just, musical enthusiasts. They play the music the feel like playing. The only thing they can do is switch between tracks and whatnot. Its really, dumb, in my opinion. Anyone can do it.
Synthesizers!
