Excited that updates are coming. Some of my wishes:

- Delay with CV inputs for time, feedback, mix, preferably with a smooth/pitch-bomb style delay block.

- Delay with i/o for the feedback loop.

- A Wasp-style filter.

- a delay-based pitch-shifter, CV controllable. Maybe even with feedback, like a Boss Ps-3.

- Simple non-triggered looped sample player. Like the Sample module, just with no trigger and a way to set loop points.

- Buffer capture and playback. Could even be limited to 5-seconds or less of record time. With CV inputs for controlling loop start/end points.

- And if at all possible, a way to draw a capture box, select multiple modules and move them around all at once (like Windows desktop).

I would be prepared to pay for a point upgrade e.g 3.5 if there were a few really good new modules :)

What do other Vaz users think of this?

Just a small upgrade with a lower fee than a normal full upgrade

If all the stuff I mentioned above got in for a v4.0 some time in the next year, I'd be perfectly fine with that.

I'm surprised I haven't seen 'Mac compatibility' on the list yet.

(I'm not expecting it to happen, either).

I second this. I would also put it in a separate window similar to the sequencer and use it like a 'virtual controller' module. All the controls can be VST automated.

I ask this because when building a patch with large modules, screen estate gets filled very quickly so to have a 'compact' interface with just the controls you need would really help.

Also, and just for pure aesthetic reasons - would it be possible to have controls that can be either the default sliders or circular knobs?

Gav - thanks once more for your excellent help - noodling round with what you just explained may keep me busy for days...

and while im here - perhaps a comb filter module more geared for cv control - i.e. it looks like an oscillator, with a cv input, fine and coarse tuning, and 2 or 3 pitch modulation sliders?.. perhaps even an inbuilt WTvoice style sample loader with a built in amp/ env for excitation?

Oh, hey Martin! :)

* more than 16 patterns in the pattern sequencer! (more like, 128 at least!)

* is it possible to lock the LFO start phase to a Sequencer start event somehow? (EDIT: I have discovered Clock module, and used Clock Running to modulate LFO Lock parameter, ok!)

* as someone stated, a Wavesequencing module, but a more stremlined one, where the module itself would expand depending on the number of steps chosen (I'd say up to 128)

* some people have QWERTZ keyboards. Then the Y and Z notes are swapped. Possibly auto-detect this then swap the buttons internally so that correct notes sound?

* better patch structure. Perhaps at the top level should be a Setup (up to 16 synths, each with loadable insert FX, and master send FX), then a Synth (with its OWN patches and banks of patches, with convenient patch managers integrated into the window of the particular synth). Then the Patch entry on the toolbar (next to File, etc...) would not be necessary. Naturally, each bank of patches would be up to 128 patches, and it would respond to MIDI Program Change, and also Bank Select messages, depending of course over which out of 16 MIDI channels the messages were sent, the patch on that synth would change. This is CRITICAL for me, and I hope for most people out there!

* improve the waveshaper module: instead of faders, couldn't it be a drawable screen similar to XY pad?

* as you said, modules shouldn't EVER overlap. EVER. Not even when trying to move them over one another. Say, I want to try to put a module on top of each other, VAZ should say "no, I can't allow it", and move it right next to it or below. Or whatever.

* more colors is nice, yes. Opetion to change font color of the module parameters too. Elements (faders, buttons, markings...) should be changeable with a simple hue/saturation control (like Colorize in Photoshop for example).

* better documentation of ALL modules - things like what it can do, the history (for example, where it's first used, and also which filter is inspired by which real-world filter, etc...)

* improve Vector mixer module: instead of 2 faders, why not making it an XY screen?

* double-clicking each fader sets it to default value.

* stereo versions of every effect module (more streamlined than just using two mono modules, also introducing Spread parameters to such modules, etc.) in addition to already existing mono modules. Yes, I don't care about additional CPU load when I have a nice dualcore CPU.

* SSM filter emulation (Polysix, PPG Wave!) if there isn't one already

* PLL top-octave divide oscillator, if it isn't already there?

* I have noticed when we raise the polyphony, CPU load increases proportionally. That's ok. But, if we switch to Dynamic, why not introducing additional CPU load when the new voice is played, and not "reserving" the CPU power for all, e.g. 32 voices when they're active? This would give space to other plugins we might be running at the same time.

* better parameter unit convention. I would like to see PW in %, time in ms (glide, envelopes), levels (output, amp, resonance) in dB, pitch in cents/semitones (osc) or Hz (cutoff), instead of Value display showing mostly values from 0-255. Sure, I can see in Master Controls module the output volume in dB, but it's not quite the same, and it's not present for all parameters which have levels declared in dB (say, resonance). Take Kurzweil synthesizers as a perfect example.

* separate values for pitch bend up and pitch bend down.

* last, but not the least, forum software for support instead of that tree-thingie that's already there. Setting up forum on the server is under-1-hour type of thing.

I hope this wasn't too boring to read, and also that most of this will get implemented as soon as possible. Moreover, I hope you'll give me a rundown on each suggestion and how possible to happen is, and in what time :)

It might be nice to have a vector mixer that was configurable for different numbers of signals, ie selectable between 3-way, 4-way, 5-way, 8-way or somesuch.

I've just release 3.20 beta 8 which fixes the problem reported by mojogigolo with the position of modules created with the right-click menu when the synth window is scrolled.

Wishes here:

Unconnected modules use no cpu and/or
a function to remove unconnected modules.

Overlap and fade/x-fade between the wavetable waves in the wavetable oscillator to make a smooth scan through the waves.

Posibility to save FX programs/chains. I love the Vaz phaser but i hate to start on scratch everytime i use it.
The best way i think would be if al the FX modules has there own FX bank load/save window.

Leave the 3 sub outputs as is, but make one output for every channel instead. That makes 16 + the stereo master.

A midi controller module/panel where we can specify a number of buttons (4-8-16 or 32...) and associate them with the controls we want and name them, much like a little synth panel. To make a complicated creation more easy to look at and controll, and leave the more advanced functions underneath.
