Frantic Filter is no longer available, basement arts are now gone? and I would never buy their software as I bought Reflex and it's the only vst that continues to crash my pc for no reason when using it, hence why I just bought liveslice. They gave no support and never answered emails when still running, absolutely useless, glad they have gone, they can't rip anyone else off with unstable no support vsts....zerocrossing wrote:I hate using "best" because I think of it more as what has interesting characteristics for what I want at the moment. Here are a few I love that come to mind.
The Uhbik one. Runktifier or something named so I can't remember it. Also from U-He: http://www.filterscape.com/
Frantic Filter http://www.kvraudio.com/get/1707.html
Dr. Device (I bet all the audiodamage ones are good, but I can't say as there are no demos)
Best filter freeware, donationware or payware!

I like Rs-Met Engineers Filter. Currently free, in testing state.
Real clean sounding. The rest are all the same to me.

copy and pasted 'Rs-Met Engineers Filter' all I got was a load of ford focus rs filter hits', I am wondering if that is the reason it's sounds different to the rest, maybe it's because it's a car part'?RunBeerRun wrote:I like Rs-Met Engineers Filter. Currently free, in testing state.

BTW, don't just stick with one filter, there's loads of them, most of them with its unique flavour, quirks and uniqueness. Just one more hint, have a try with one of mutagene's filters, not your bread and butter type, but terrific sound-mangling tools (i think of them more as instruments than effects).

you should be a beta-tester for that. You should tune the xml of the plain (not encrypted) program. I'll do it, but at the moment I'm a bit busy so I don't have a release date. I agree, that filter is magic.thermal wrote:cool... how would i add an LFO rate and depth control to the program?
